How do you grab the person (ID) for query a list (sharepoint online)?

Cannot query by user unless we have the “ID” of the person within the sharepoint list. How do you do this dynamically (varies based on several factors so we only have email addresses at this point in the workflow).Please enlighten me on how this is achievable with query a list item for sharepoint online and conditions for data sources (same issue - only can filter by ID if data source is using sharepoint online connector)?

Dropdown Choices based on User

Hi All,We have a requirement where IT members should see 5 choices in the dropdown when they are logged in, while others should see 3 choices. (Screenshot attached for reference)I know this can be done by creating two separate dropdowns and hiding/unhiding them, but I was wondering if it's possible to do this with a single dropdown?Thank you :)

How to padleft with Nintex Automation Cloud

Hello,I am migrating a workflow that uses the padleft function in on-prem environment and wondering how can this be done within the Automation cloud environment?  Basically there is a number field in a SharePoint list that needs 0’s added.  For example if the number is 1, then the result should be 001, if the number is 11 then then result should be 011 where the actual padding to the left is 3.  Just not sure which action to use to make this happen.  Thanks n advance

Restricted form view in instance mode.

Hi team,We have a cloud form on Nintex automation cloud. Our team has implemented the page rules that is a new feature to satisfy the business requirements. When we try to view the form in the instance start data, the pages that we have configured are being disabled and we cannot view some of the paged. Please also note that some of the fields do not have a value in them though they are updated in the SP list during the form submission. Thanks in advance,Susmitha

WF 'Add item to collection' operation - Does the index need to be sequential?

There is no detail that answers this question on the Help documentation for the action (here), which is a pity. When using the ‘Add item to a collection’ WF action you must specify an index value, where the index starts at zero. However, if you start with an empty index and after the first item (at ‘0’) add additional items at index values > 0 but that are non-sequential will the collection still hold the values? It seems not. And is this by design or bug?

Which time zone/time standard should I use in my UK NAC regional settings?

The settings for date and time are causing us (our organisation), problems when we transition between UTC (Zulu) and Daylight Savings Time (DST). Workflows that are time dependent go from working normally, to being one hour out - transitioning either way around.Our NAC regional settings are set to this: (UTC/UTC+01:00) Europe/LondonWorkflows are set to use the tenant default, is that correct, or should it be just plain UTC coordinated universal time?My understanding of (UTC/UTC+01:00) Europe/London is both UTC + 00:00 winter and UTC + 01:00 summer. I also regard that as meaning that the time with change in accordance with DST.What I need to understand is how to make the NAC and any workflows running in it, follow time changes throughout the year. Please can anyone provide some guidance?

Is there any way to get the current user name when task form authentication is disabled?

I have a few workflows where, due to business processes, Nintex Automation Cloud workflow tasks are not set to require user authentication. This is primarily because the ‘Assignees’ are set to use a shared mailbox address. Any of up to 20 people can access the tasks in the target mailbox and approve them. I know this is not the preferred way to work with these task forms, but it is something we have had to agree to, so that task respondents do not have to visit the NAC ‘My Nintex’ portal, but instead receive an email with a direct link to the task.This all works OK, but it means that we cannot use any of the user context variable to get user name. email, etc.In the absence of any context user info, is there any other way that I can get the email address or username of the user who opens for task form to approve?Thanks in advance.

Can't use Outcome value on task form to show/hide other fields

I’m editing a task form in my workflow. I want a custom field called “Comments” to show if the user selects the “Reject” option for the outcome. Normally I would do this by adding my custom field to the form and then for the “Visible” property set it to something like Form.Outcome == “Rejected”. But I can’t get this to work. The Form.Outcome control is missing!!  Why is the “Outcome” control missing from here and how can I make rules when I can’t see it??

Render rich text into a generated document

I’m confused about how to render rich text into a PDF document created by the Generate document action in a workflow. Apparently some kind of feature was added in May 2024 (as stated here), but it seems that is only when you are getting your text from somewhere besides the workflow (?) and using Nintex DocGen (what is that?).All I want to do is take some rich text entered in a form during my workflow and have it render properly in a PDF document (generated from a Word template). I don’t want to write it to a SharePoint list first and then retrieve it, as seems to be one option, because my workflow deals with highly sensitive information and I don’t want it in SharePoint even with permission restrictions. I want to take it directly from the rich text entered on the form and write that text, with formatting intact, into my generated document. Is this still not possible?

Error on submit: The form submission was unsuccessful. Please try to submit the form again

On NAC forms we sometimes have users report getting an error on submit: ‘The form submission was unsuccessful. Please try to submit the form again.’ Typically trying again doesn’t resolve the issue, the same error simply displays again.Does anyone know what the rules are around when/why this error displays? I suspect it’s a timeout issue: where a user keeps an authenticated form open without a submit for too long. I could be wrong however. If someone does know however I suspect the solution is to add a ‘Save’ button to a form and have users regularly save.

Loop through list and delete items IF...

Hello!I am trying to loop through a list and ONLY delete items based on a specified date and status. I setup a component workflow and ran a test and accidentally deleted everything in my list…. which wasn’t suppose to happen. HELP? My requirements are REMOVE anything that is before:Dec 1, 2024ANDIf the Request Status  is:PENDING APPROVALREJECTEDEmptyPending changes statusPending Reviewer Approval I used a Branch by Stage and didn’t know if that was the right approach or not..My workflow steps are below. Nintex Automation Cloud - Add attachment to an item on-prem

Is it possible to have an anonymous form in Nintex Automation Cloud with an attachment field that when summitted, the workflow will create the item in SharePoint on-prem (SharePoint 2016), then attach the attachments from the form to the newly created item. Using Nintex Gateway I am able to create the item in the on-prem list, but I cannot figure how how to add the attachments from the form to the new item in on-prem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Dynamic Table Plugin Edit Fields to list

Hello, I have a problem in Nintex Cloud and I want to know if anyone has managed to solve it. I am using the Dynamic Table Plugin and it works well but I want to change the field type from a line of text to a list. Do you know if anyone has managed to do this?

Table data/External data not available in form created in SharePoint list form designer?

So I have created both a form as a start even for a NAC workflow and, separately, a Nintex form for a SharePoint online list via the SharePoint list form designer. I noticed that in a choice field on my start even form I have access to my table data and external data, but not on my SharePoint list form. Error Add Connection to Azure SQL Server

Hello!  Has anyone ever encountered this type of error when trying to add or edit a connection to Azure SQL Server?[XAPI.InputValidationErrorCode] Connection validation failed. We are converting over from Nintex for SharePoint and I see the option to configure a notification as plain text is no longer available. I have a requirement to send a few emails without html. Is there any way to do so?

Loop for each

Hello, I am trying to break then update permissions for each item in a sharepoint list. I am using a component WF to handle this and only able to update successfully if I specifically state in the condition that “ID equals 12345”, but I need it to iterate though out the entire list and update each item.

Calculate difference between two dates

Hello,I am  trying to calculate 12 months (From date /To date) exactly.So from 1/1/2023 to 12/31/2023 I continue to get 11 months in my form. I am doing this within NAC Forms. I used the function below and continue to get 11 months. Am I using the wrong function?“dateDiff([Datetime].[TotalMonths],[Form].[Repeating Section].[Current row].[FROM Date],[Form].[Repeating Section].[Current row].[TO Date])”The formula I am trying to mimic is out of an excel form. That formula is listed below and outputs 12 months when I enter in the same dates.=IF(F32="","",YEARFRAC(D32,F32)*12)Your help is appreciated!Thanks

How to set a field value based on another field value selected?

I’m trying to set a field value based on another field value in a Nintex Form and I know I can do it using the form rules options, this way I can compare two values and based on it, set some variable to a specific value.The problem is that the field values are not static, it’s comming from a google spreadsheet and the values may change with time. So, the issue is that, I can’t compare a value that will come from the spreadsheet because it doesn’t exist on the form yet and I don’t know what it can be. “Classificação” is the field where the value is chosen, and “Conta” is a read-only field where the value will be displayed based on the “Classificação” choise. Does anyone know how to do it? Even if it’s in a different way but with the same result.

Authentication to use the form

Hi, I am creating a form that will be sent to external users so it will not be an authenticated form. Has anyone come up with a solution to do the following:Send a task to an external user In order to move forward within the form, the user can a generate a 6-digit code The 6-digit code is sent to the same email that was used to send the task form The user enters the 6-digit code then they can proceed with the form to submit their data.My understanding is if the form has assignee authentication turned off then anyone with the URL can fill out the form. I am trying to at least build something that the person opening the link can at least prove they have access to the email address that received the task form.

Does Automation Cloud Support XSLT Or Plan To?

I saw this thread regarding XSLT in Nintex Automation Cloud, but it’s over a year old. Has there been any movement in the XSLT area since or is it just something that is never likely to make it into the product? Follow up question: Is there a way for people to develop their own actions for Automation Cloud like there was for Nintex Workflow on prem?

How do I trim the results of a Choice field

I have a form with a choice field (drop down list).  I am including the user’s selection in an email after they click submit.  However that field shows up with preceding and ending characters that I do not want in the body of the email.  (example below).  How do I remove those characters?  I have looked at converting the string, modifying the value using trim but am at a bit of a loss.Output example.Sean OBryant  from district ["District 7"]has submitted the following question directed to Cultural Arts

Nintex Workflow Cloud API - 404 statuscode

We were advised by our CRM to use the API for instances reporting. We need to run a report daily of instances started each day and email a summary to leadership and our team.  This will help us identify if something is NOT right in the tenant on any given day - specifically excessive trigger looping. That being said, we’ve used this API in the past for several workflows and forms.  I’m not sure why it’s not working all of the sudden. Can someone please try and install the Xtension and run it to a US tenant and see if it’s operating as expected? I can’t get it to work and I have have installed it to several US tenants we have to get it to work and I receive the 404 error each time saying resource not found so I’m confused. Nintex Gallery - Nintex Workflow Cloud API v2
