ProblemAfter installing the July 11, 2023—KB5028169 (OS Build 14393.6085) on a Windows Server 2016 hosting the K2 application server, the 'K2' Classic Application Pool used to host the legacy K2 API endpoints may crash when accessing the [K2 URL]\/K2Services/WCF.svc endpoint. SolutionThe issue appears to be directly related to Microsoft July 11, 2023 — KB5028169. Uninstalling the update or installing the newer August 8, 2023—KB5029242 (OS Build 14393.6167) instead will resolve/avoid this issue.

Known Issue: Visual C++ Redistributable error when applying K2 Five 5.4 March 2022 Cumulative Update Fix Pack 11KB003702PRODUCTAutomation On-PremBASED ONAutomation On-Prem IssueWhen installing the K2 Five 5.4 March 2022 Cumulative Update Fix Pack 11, the installer checks the version of Visual C++ Redistributable for compatibility with your current version of K2. If the installed version is a newer version compared to the one required by the Fix Pack, which is 2019, an error shows in the Configuration Analysis Tool on the Installation Health screen. The error is caused by the K2 Setup Manager failing on an internal check as it does not recognize the newer version of Visual C++ Redistributable. If the version of Visual C++ Redistributable is newer than the current version (2019) used by K2, all services will continue to function normally.
