Nintex Workflow

I have a repeating section on start form which contains read-only short/long text controls. The default value of the repeating section is an external data’s records collection. The external data is a data lookup to a sharepoint list, getting columns:Control/field mapping is working for:ObjectiveDetails ObjectiveMetric ObjectiveName ObjectiveID ReviewIDControl/field mapping is not working for ObjectiveComments. I have tested:Renaming the field in Sharepoint and on the form control Creating a new repeating section in the same form Creating a new repeating section in a start form on a separate testing workflow Using label type form control instead of long text Setting the first ObjectiveComments as default value in a label outside of the repeating section (worked)I am going to use a workaround of having the ObjectiveComments displayed in a label using the field from a separate external data variable which filters by current row ObjectiveID, but would like to check if this is a bug to be re

I want the form user to enter time-of-day on and off times, so I am not interested in the date component, just the time, including hours and minutes. There doesn’t seem to be a way to turn off date (just time) in the DateTime control and the alternative solution I started to develop looked like it was going to be very clunky (choice or number control for the hour, number for the minutes, parse that out with a formula, validate the hours and minutes are 0-12, 0-60...etc) Worst case, I’ll provide instructions to select today’s date and the time, then will parse it out after submittal. Is there a more elegant way to gather this info, though? Thanks in advance!

In NWC I need to create an xtension using api v3.all the posts I’m seeing suggests that NWC can’t utilise v3 at the moment.is this the case or am I just configuring the xtension wrong?. I keep getting an error saying the specification is incorrect. cheers marc

I’m working on a flow to update a Nintex Table from a report retrieved from our ERP. Part of the flow requires that it compare a ticket number from each row of the report to what’s already in the table, so it will only add new rows. The approach I’m using is to use a Query a Table action to generate a collection of only the ticket numbers (i.e. theTableResult>Rows) then using a Check If Item Exists in Collection action from a ticket number in the report, to see whether a given ticket number is in the collection and hence in the table. The snag I’ve run into is that the Check action doesn’t seem to be correctly evaluating whether the supplied value is found in the collection. This is what the collection looks like in Log to Instance Details, along with the raw result of the Check action for ticket 71629 (supplied as a default text variable):Logging the First Row from that same table query appears to show the value correctly:In other words, it seems to work fine showing the info directl

I’m trying to generate a text variable with a custom date.I can’t use “Format date from String”: none of the built-in “Format” options match what I need.I’d prefer NOT to use a form (this will be a component workflow, invoked from an external app), so I’m not sure this documentation applies:  https://help.nintex.com/en-us/nwc/content/designer/Functions/formatDate.htmThis is EXACTLY what I’m looking for: yyMMddHHss:  I’m trying to use fn-FormatDate({Workflow:Current Date and Time},"yyMMddHHmm") in “Set Variable”.It’s printing out “fn-FormatDate(...)” instead of executing the inline function:Q: What am I missing??? BACKGROUND:What brought the question up is that I was trying to do several SMALL tasks that I THOUGHT were “trivially simple”: a) format a custom date string (this question), b) generate a random number, c) create a text file formatted with embedded newlines, d) etc. etc.I found this “workaround” for the custom date string:1. Call Format Date Time with one of the built-in form

Hello Nintex Community, I would like to know if there are any plans on the Nintex Automation Cloud roadmap to introduce:A native Workday connector for integrating with Workday HR and Finance systems. A Data Lookup capability similar to lookup actions available for other enterprise applications, enabling users to retrieve and reference Workday data within workflows, forms, and automation processes. We are exploring broader HR process automation scenarios and would be interested in understanding whether native Workday integration is being considered, or if there are any recommended approaches currently available through Xtensions, APIs, or third-party connectors.Any information on future roadmap plans, current alternatives, or best practices would be greatly appreciated.Thank you!

Hello!  Just curious if anyone at Nintex has any updates as to when Tables might receive API support?  We have a few different processes that would benefit from making the use of Nintex Tables over their current system, but we would really need the ability to read/write to the Nintex Tables from external systems before that’s possible.  2 years ago, we were told it was coming - I’m just hoping for an update on when. Thank you!

Dear Team,I am writing to request your assistance with an issue I am encountering while working with our mock SAP setup. Please find the details below, along with the attached Swagger file for your review.---1. Context- We are using the attached Swagger file to create a mock SAP environment.- I am using Nintex Workflow to retrieve data from this mock SAP via the defined API endpoints.2. Issue DescriptionWhen I retrieve data for a specific object (e.g., object code OC"), the HTTP response returns a "value" field that contains two (2) items. However, instead of mapping each item into its corresponding column, the system displays the entire "value" array as a single combined string in one field.Expected behaviour:| Column | Data || Value 1 | Item 1 from the response || Value 2 | Item 2 from the response |Actual behaviour:| Column | Data || Value 1 | Item 1, Item 2 (both items combined) || Value 2 | Item 1, Item 2 (both items combined)|In summary, the data is not being itemised or segregat

Salesforce is implementing a security change that affects OAuth refresh tokens used by integrations, including Nintex Workflow Salesforce connections. What is changing? Salesforce will invalidate refresh tokens that have not been used for 30 consecutive days. As a result, Salesforce connections in Nintex Workflow that remain inactive for more than 30 days may require reauthorization before they can be used again.  Who is affected? This applies to customers using the Salesforce connector in Nintex Workflow, particularly those who use it infrequently. What happens if a connection becomes inactive? If a Salesforce connection is not used for more than 30 consecutive days:  The refresh token may expire.  Workflow actions using that connection may pause (if error handling is enabled) or fail.  The connection may need to be reauthorized before workflows can successfully execute again.  Recommended actions To avoid disruption, we recommend one of the following: Option 1: Create a scheduled w

Hi Community,I'm working with Nintex Automation CE (Cloud) and have a workflow that inserts form data into a Nintex Table. As part of the same process, I'm storing file information in the table as a collection/list object. My requirement is to retrieve the file through the workflow and make it available to the end user, either by:Sending a downloadable link in an email, or Sending the file as an email attachmentMy understanding is that a downloadable link typically requires the file to be stored in a repository such as SharePoint, OneDrive, or another file storage solution that can generate a secure URL. If that's the case, I'm wondering whether Nintex Tables are intended only for storing file metadata rather than serving files directly for download.I would appreciate guidance on the following:Is it possible to retrieve a file stored in a Nintex Table and provide it to users through a downloadable link? What is the recommended or best-practice approach for this scenario? If external sto

Unlocking New Use Cases with Table Forms in Nintex DataFor a long time, Nintex has been exceptionally good at orchestrating workflows.Approvals, routing, escalations we’ve got that covered. But here’s the thing we’ve heard consistently from the community “Not everything needs to be a workflow.”At time we do come across situations where you just want to capture data, maybe attach a file or two, store it safely, and move on, no approvals, no emails, no workflow entitlements quietly disappearing in the background. That’s exactly where Nintex Data Tables and Table Forms step in. And with the introduction of the new File column type, they just became a whole lot more powerful. In the PastTraditionally, Nintex didn’t offer a native way to store persistent data with files. So, if you wanted to:Capture a signature Upload inspection photos Store feedback attachmentsYou usually had to:Push the file into a Document Management System (SharePoint, Box, Google Drive, OneDrive etc.) Trigger a workflow j

I have a Nintex Workflow online start form that has a People control set to allow multiple selections. Submitting the form kicks off a workflow that has a “Assign a task to multiple users” action. I would like to pre-populate a People control in the workflow task form with the selections from the People control on the start form. Anyone have a solution for this?

We've published two SharePoint web parts that bring Nintex Workflow Cloud directly into your intranet, so you don't need to switch between SharePoint and a separate Nintex portal to check on work. What they do:Nintex Workflow Tasks: see your pending and completed workflow tasks right on a SharePoint page. Approve or reject tasks in place, with an optional comment, and jump into the full form when you need more detail.Nintex Workflow Forms: browse available workflow start forms as clickable cards, so starting a new request is just a click away from wherever your team already works. Both web parts use single sign-on with Nintex, so once you're logged in, sessions stay active in the background with no repeated login prompts.Setup is straightforward. Register a client app in your Nintex tenant, drop the client ID into the web part settings, and you're good to go. Full setup steps and a user guide are included. You'll find them in the Template Gallery here: https://gallery.nintex.app/gallery/t

is that something on the horizon? ability to use a external page for task form. we can use Component workflow to start a workflow. API to complete a task but not a way to link external form to the Assign a task to multiple users event.

Hi Team,I noticed that with testing a process, odd behaviour shows.Example form scenario.I have a form whereby a data lookup is present. The field requires a ‘clinic code’ to be provided to then interrogate the connected SQL table and retrieve key data points to show on the form.I noticed the following behaviour in 2 different ways to show said data.Have the rules dictated by a ‘rule-trigger’ button When Clinic Code was filled, I had a rule to pull data points when ‘Select Code’ button was clicked. This shows that using the button as a rule trigger is not instant and then when you Click the button as per the label, all information appears fine but this should not be the case as it forces users to essentially click x2 for data.   Change the ruleset to simply start when the ‘Clinic Code’ is entered Immediately works once the Clinic Code data is entered especially clicking the ‘Select Code’ button Or anywhere else on the form. This shows there is some sort of form runtim

We have been struggling with finding user experience training for our internal customers. There is several, if not tons of resources available for a Designer and above role in Nintex Automation Cloud but nothing that supports with the experience the users (participants) who will be using these automated solutions. I really need help finding a product demo or some form of training that goes over the My Nintex Dashboard experience. We have created several short videos of our own for some training based on our business needs to support our customers but something like this I’d really like content or material that is directly from Nintex.Something that goes covers the dashboard, tasks, submit a form, form submissions and workflow tracking sections on the My Nintex page.

Hi,I'm trying to show or hide a section in my Start Form based on whether the workflow initiator belongs to a specific team.My approach is as follows:I created a table containing the email addresses of all team members. I store this table in a variable (Table Data) in Data Variables of the start form. In the Start Form, I created a rule that compares the workflow current user email address with the email addresses stored in the table. If there's a match, the section should be displayed; otherwise, it should remain hidden. The strange part is that the logic works correctly when I test it with my own account, but it does not work for the other users whose email addresses are also listed in the table.I'm wondering if I'm missing something regarding:How Table Data is evaluated in form rules. Data type or format differences between the initiator email and the email values stored in the table. Limitations when comparing a single value against a Table Data variable. Permissions or user profile

I wanted to reach out and see if people have developed forms that eitherconstruct a document from the questions and responses provided from a submission, which gets created, then goes through conversion (to be a PDF) to then be appended to an email action and whether or not it works and if there are better ways / connectors to leverage such a request.I have a form and workflow from another application that I need to rebuild into Nintex however this 1 item is a blocker for us. The other application has a native action to construct s ‘Summary Document’ and it can be provided as a word/csv/excel or PDF. It is derived from the contents of the form/workflow upon submission.I am trying to avoid the following as well:create and store file in external repository call file from external repositoryEssentially I require a form that afterwards will generate a file and send that to the recipient / user with all the details that could be displayed in an email.Additionally the file may also need to b

I wanted to see whether or not the community has encountered this and or has a ‘solution’ for this problem I currently have.I want to see in the User management side of Nintex on the Tenancy, if a user is allocated to an assign task action and or multiple and in what projects?I know that there are some other forms and workflow engines that have this capability to “see” what each user is allocated to and where.

I wanted to reach out and see if people have developed forms that eitherconstruct JSON text strings in the workflow and create a text/JSON file appended to an email action and whether or not it works and if there are better ways / connectors to leverage such a request.I have a form and workflow from another application that I need to rebuild into Nintex however this 1 item is a blocker for us. The other application has a native action to construct JSON from the contents of the form/workflow upon submission.I am trying to avoid the following as well:create and store file in external repository call file from external repository

Not entirely sure why I’m getting status of NotFound for this Xtension. We were testing ability to export a workflow from one Nintex tenant to another using a workflow rather than manually doing it.  I have checked everything - region is fine. Other actions within this Xtension works just fine so what is the issue with this particular action that it cannot recognize a workflow ID? It’s published and in DEV. I republished in PROD and still returning NOTHING.

We created a workflow with a start form that includes Text – Long controls populated by rules. This creates an issue when users select “Copy form data” to reuse information from a completed form in a new submission. Because those text controls were populated by rules in the original submission, their values do not carry over to the new form. I have two questions:Do you have any suggestions for resolving this issue? Is there an action that allows a user to select a specific point to restart the workflow? In other words, is there an action that can move or jump to a defined step in the workflow?

Hello,I tried to set up a kind of workflow protokoll for the users which is directly visible at the relevant list item. I added a multi line text field to the SharePoint Online list, with the option “Add changes to existing text”. When updating this field via a Nintex Workflow, it overwrites the existing text instead of adding it. Is there any chance to add the next comment without first reading the content of the field, adding the new comment via “build a string” and storing the whole new content back in the field? Or does Nintex simply ignore the option “Add changes to existing text” and I have to do it like I described above? Thanks for any ideas!Marion

We recently adopted Nintex and have been developing some workflows. For various reasons, we aren’t yet ready to federate our active directory to Nintex. However, I want to start adding some users so we can do testing and then move the flows into production.Adding 40-50 users one at a time seems like a lot of work and I would like to be able to upload a csv file with their data instead. I thought I saw how to do that somewhere but cannot find it now. Was I just dreaming or is this possible?Thank-you!Chris

Subject: Need Help Creating My First Nintex Workflow (Form Submission and Email Notifications)Hello Everyone,I am new to Nintex Automation Cloud and am currently trying to build my first workflow. I have made some progress, but I am struggling to complete the workflow successfully and would appreciate any guidance, tutorials, or resources that could help. What I have completed so far:Created my Nintex Form. Configured the workflow Start Event.I am trying to achieve:Send an email to users with a link to access and complete the Nintex Form. When the user submits the form, store the form data in SharePoint. Send an email notification to me when a submission is received. Include key data from the submitted form (SharePoint columns) in the notification email. Ideally, send a confirmation email back to the user after successful submission.I am having difficulty understanding how to pass form data into the workflow and access SharePoint column values within the workflow. Also, how to configu
