I would be interested if you can compare Nintex eSign and DocuSign specifically from a signer authentication, audit trail, and evidence perspective.
My objective is to strengthen the authentication of customer signatures and reduce the legal and financial risk associated with disputed signatures.
Today, a customer may sign a Credit Application and later, particularly if the account becomes bad debt, claim that the signature is not theirs. Resolving these situations can involve internal investigations, Legal, settlements, collection challenges, and potentially litigation.
For that reason, we need more than the ability to capture an electronic signature. We need sufficient evidence to establish:
- who signed;
- how the signer was authenticated or their identity verified;
- when the document was viewed and signed;
- what document was actually signed;
- whether the document remained unchanged after signing; and
- a reliable audit trail that can be retained with the Credit Application.
I am currently evaluating the best solution for this use case between DocuSign and Nintex eSign.
I am interested in understanding whether Nintex eSign could provide an equivalent level of signer authentication and supporting evidence.
Ultimately, the question we need to answer is: if a customer later claims, “I did not sign this Credit Application,” what evidence will we be able to provide to demonstrate that they did?
