Future of Nintex O365 Forms: Migrating from Add-ins to SPFx

IntroductionWe're excited to announce that as of today, our Nintex Forms for Office 365 customers can now publish and use forms in either the Nintex Forms add-in or the Nintex Automation Cloud SPFx apps. For those who aren't already aware, Microsoft is moving away from add-in apps, and you'll need to transition to SPFx apps. For more details, check out this link. This important feature follows the completion of the final features for our Form Upgrade tooling, which helps customers upgrade to New Responsive forms. This is the next crucial step in this transition. PrerequisitesForm must be upgraded to New Responsive Format Must have a Nintex Automation Cloud Tenant Must have a valid active license Steps to Get StartedInstall the SPFx app from the store. Choice Single control - Data Source Variable usage

The choice Single control now has an Insert tab for the choice options in the control’s configuration. This allows for a Data Source Variable to be selected.Inserting a flattened collection from a data source into this field gives you a dynamically generated list of choices.An array of objects can also be selected. When an object is select, two new fields will appear in the control’s configuration. The fields are “Option label” and “Option value”.Option label will display the text for the choices. Option value is the value that can be used elsewhere in the form or passed to the workflow.  For example, the option label may show a list of states of the United States of America. Providing your Choice Single Control with dynamic options

Have you ever wanted to make the options displayed in a radio button control (single choice control) dynamic?  For example, we have a menu that changes daily across all three meal types (breakfast, lunch and dinner).  Here’s an example shown in a SharePoint list for today’s menu: In the past, if you wanted to present these dynamically, you’d have to create 3 choice controls (one each for breakfast, lunch and dinner) and hide the ones that weren’t needed via a rule.  Then when the user has made their selection, you also have to know to retrieve the value from the meal type that was selected.  All off this is pretty straightforward but at Nintex, we’re not satisfied with straightfoward - we want it to be fast and easy. So you might have seen @SimonMuntz’s recent post on using data source variables with the single choice control.  That’ s exactly what you’d use for this scenario. First, you have to set up your data source variable.  Here’s the help topic on doing this if you need some ass

Critical Update: Microsoft's SharePoint SendEmail API Retirement and Its Impact on Nintex for Office 365 Workflow Customers

Microsoft has announced the retirement of the SharePoint SendEmail API on October 31, 2025 which is used for internal SharePoint emails. This significant change will directly impact Nintex Workflow for Office 365 customers who utilize the following actions:Send an Email (when Internal Email is selected) Assign a Task (when Lazy Approval is not selected) Start a Task Process (when Lazy Approval is not selected)To mitigate the potential disruption caused by this retirement, we strongly recommend migrating your affected workflows to Nintex Automation Cloud before October 31, 2025.If you intend to keep your workflows within Office 365, you will need to update the affected actions to use external email.Mitigation Steps:Send an Email: Select ‘External Email’ under email service option. Nintex K2 Integration with Azure Government High Security (GCCH) Certificate UpdateNews

For customers who have integrated their K2 environments with SharePoint or Exchange Online in a Azure Government Cloud Computing High Security subscription (GCCH), a change is being made to our security certificate that will impact you.Customers who have configured SharePoint or Exchange Online will have manually uploaded a token signing certificate as part of the setup process. This certificate expires on August 13 2024. Nintex K2 Cloud ops will be updating the certificate during scheduled maintenance for K2 Trust on August 3 2024. In order to avoid downtime on your K2 environments, it is critical that customers update their certificate before the maintenance period to ensure continued operation of their environments.If the certificate is not added after August 3, customers will see AADSTS errors returned from K2. This affects Exchange Online integration, SharePoint workflows, User/Group resolving and all administration methods such as the Registration Wizard and SharePoint Site activ
