Good afternoon,

I am writing to ask if there is a known, best practice for preventing failures in Nintex when writing to SharePoint for attachments, when a duplicate file is loaded. Specifically, when in Nintex a task can be repeated and therefore allows the user to potentially load the same file multiple times, which causes a failure in Nintex. We have discovered potential fixes, but am curious to know if there is a most efficient workaround/method for solving/preventing this.

Thank you!

Alex,

There are two options, depending on your desired outcome:

  1. Overwrite file - In the “Store a file” action, configure the action to Overwrite file (Yes/No setting)
  2. Store a file with a different name - create a naming system where file is uploaded, then rename to append something to the file name (eg a datetime group).  see link below.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for confirming! We had already configured option 2, we just wanted to confirm with the Nintex team that this was the best route.
