HTTP Patch

Hi have a Nintex workflow that features a ‘Call a web service’ step.. I’m trying to use the HTTP Patch request type to update an item via the API. I have tested through Postman and the Request Content of { “id”: “value”, “notification_email”: “value”} works successfully. When I run the workflow and log the output, I get a status of 200 (success), but the data is not updated. For context, I’m also using a HTTP Get against the same API earlier in the workflow, so Auth in the Request Headers isn’t the issue. Any ideas?

Smart Response Detection

The product updates come thick and fast here so you might have missed smart response detection.  “What is that?” I hear you say.  If you are using email responses to your tasks (express approval) then people no longer have to type the exact phrase of the outcome because we’re using AI to interpret the intent of their reply.  This makes interacting with the system even more natural for the end user and caters for typos. As an example, if your outcomes are reject and approve.  Your end user could respond with “yep”, “approved” or even a mistyped “aprove” to mean approve.  It’s even smart enough to know that “absolutely” means approve and “absolutely not” means reject.  It even recognises some other languages so “oui” would be interpreted as approve.  Don’t try the classic Australian/Kiwi “yeah nah” though because it will reject that phrase and email the person back asking them to be slightly more specific 😂 So how do you turn it on?  Well first make sure you are allowed to use AI featur

Allow form user to update drop-down list entries

I’m using a drop-down list on a Single Choice form control. The data for this list is in a Nintex Data Table. I’d like to allow the form user to add an entry to this table and have the drop-down list update without leaving the form. I can do this once the form has been submitted easily using the ‘Tables - Create a Row’ action in the workflow. How do I do this without the user leaving the form? Thank You Darren

Repeating Section Data from Cloud form and storing into Sharepoint Form

HELP!   We have built a form on Nintex cloud that includes repeating sections. This form is to connect to an already existing form within SharePoint O365. All other fields are updating as expected, except for repeating sections. Does anyone know how we can make this happen?

Editable Repeating Section for Task - Branch by Stage

I have a repeating section in my start form. In the workflow, I have a branch by stage with 3 branches that are 3 different person: Rep, Manager, GSM. Each of them has a task to do.The request goes to the manager firts. The manager form has an editable repeating section that is the same as the start event. The manager can change the repeating section. If the manager approves the request, it goes to the GSM. If not, the request returns to the Rep. The GSM task form has also the editable repeating section. He can change the repeating section. The GSM has the possibility to return the request to the Rep or to the manager to revise it.My problem is that for the manager task, the value that I want to show in my repeating section can come from the start form, the Rep form or the GSM form. So I don't know how to configure the count formula and the getItemCollectionItem in the Rules of the manager form, because of this.Can you help me?

Assign Task to multiple users (wf action) - NAC

Hello, I am curious.. I am testing a WF I just setup in NAC and using the Assign Task to multiple users workflow action. It will need to go through 7 approvers and I assigned all 7 to myself… now, should I receive 7 emails cause I only received one… 🤔

Get number of files in a SharePoint document library folder

Hello,In my workflow, I create a folder in a document library. Then I send an email to the person who started the workflow and give them the URL to upload their file to. (This is for files larger than what can be uploaded in the Nintex Start form. >25MB ) I want the workflow to periodically check the document library for the presence of a file. I can’t figure out how to do this? I thought I could get a count of files in the folder, and if it’s greater than zero the workflow will proceed. But all I’ve been able to query is the folder itself.I used the Query a list action on the document library with a condition of ID equals the Folder ID of the folder I created. But this only returns data about the Folder, not the contents of the folder.Any suggestions?Thank you,Michele

Writing Nintext Automation Cloud URL sent in an e-mail that refers to the form in the next step

When a Nintex Automation Cloud Form is completed; the url is sent to the user. If there a way to write the url sent in the e-mail to SharePoint Online for the user to click on from SharePoint Online?

Workflow Cloud - Exchange Online Connector - trigger workflow on Email Receive

Using Exchange Online Connector …  I am attempting to trigger a workflow on receipt of an email to a particular mailbox account. I’ve already built and tested the connector using SEND, Create Calendar, etc… and the connector works fine. I cannot get a workflow to TRIGGER on email receipt to that account even if I set conditions based on “Subject Starts With <something>” etc. Anyone else have issues getting the “Receive Mail” TRIGGER to work?

Microsoft Exchange Online - Send an Email: Message Body Window

We would prefer to use the Microsoft Exchange Online - Send an Email action in our NAC workflows vs the NAC - Send an Email action, because the NAC emails are getting flagged with a “Caution: this email originated from outside of the organization.” warning, and we can’t turn that off.The Message Body window in the NAC email action has a rich text menu though, whereas the MS email action does not. How are hyperlinks and formatting to be added to the MS email message body - does the whole body have to be written out as HTML first?

Is it possible to update the initial start form link in sharepoint to the task form?

If you have an item in a SharePoint list and click the title, it brings up the form that was filled out. In Nintex Automation Cloud, let's say when the initial form is submitted, it changes stages to an “Assign task to multiple users” action, which has another user fill out a task form. Is there way to update SharePoint list so that this new task form is brought up when you click on the list?The reason why I want this is because I have a workflow with a form that goes from requestor to supervisor, to engineering review, to quality review, etc etc. I am making different work forms for each one, but using the same list. The problem is that the list column is filled using only the original form, which I want the original requestor to see when they click on the column link. But, I want the engineer to see their own form that they submitted when they click on the link.Thank you in advance.

Automation Cloud - Task assignment using dynamic list of email address

Using NWC ... building a workflow that includes an “Assign Task to Multiple Users” action. I want to store to store the list of USERS with their email address in a SharePoint list.  That way users who participate in any given “group / task” assignments can be updated as needed without needing to modify the workflow in NWC. So far, I have built a SharePoint list of usernames with email address; then successfully used a QUERY LIST action and LOOP action to extract the names in the list and build a TEXT variable of the email address list in typical email fashion (list separated by comma and/or semi-colon). I then tested this dynamic TEXT variable using a SEND MAIL action in the workflow and the formatted text variable works great for sending messages from the workflow.  But that same variable CANNOT be used for Task Assignments even though an email address is a viable data element when assigning a task. Note: An email “GROUP” (distribution group) will not work for this scenario because we

NAC Complete a task assigned from another workflow with a complete task action in another workflow

I built a workflow that uses the assign a task action with the escalation, however I need the task to be able to escalate if not completed to a different set of individuals. So, I created a SharePoint list and scheduled another workflow that will assign a new task out to the other individuals if the original task does not show competed on the SharePoint list. I would like to set it up so if that when this task is completed then the workflow will complete the original task. I have a unique identifier built into the task name (see attached) but when i use the get a task action trying to find the task name I get a error. See attached. If you have any ideas on how i could get this to work i would really appreciate it.

Failed to Initiate Task Error - [Task.FailureInitiatingTask] Failed to initiate task d7769c1c-b717-5aa7-b6bd-49e5f497332b.

Received this error on an Express Approval Task with multiple outcomes. There is no indication for why the task failed and everything I can tell in the task is correct. Just looking to see if anyone else has had this issue. It is the only express approval task in my workflow.

Regex to replace whole word now working

Hi all, I’m having an issue with a Regex action in a workflow that I have upgraded from Nintex for SP to NAC. The workflow looks up a user’s office and stores it in a variable, then a Regex action replaces the text with a regional code for finance purposes. However, the result (varOfficeCode) is just coming out as the original input text. Am I missing something? Thanks!

In Nintex Workflow Cloud, is there a way to rename and change the email of a user in the ‘User management’ section? We had a user get married and want to keep their existing submissions, drafts, and permissions associated with their new email.

Data loss when connecting a Repeating Table to a SharePoint Online list field

I have a Nintex form with a repeating table. There has been a change in requirements to start using some of the data in this repeating table in a workflow. So on my SharePoint Online list (where I have the form data being saved) I’ve created a new multi-line text field. In the forms designer, I’ve connected my repeating table to this new field, and re-published.Now when I open a previously submitted form, this repeating section on the form is empty! Where did the data go?If I disconnect this repeating table from the list field, and republish, then the data in the repeating table re-appears if I open a previously submitted form.The form has been published to the SharePoint list, so it’s the default form when users to go to create a new SharePoint list item.

JS-Insert Functions to Execute

I’m trying to find some examples of functions that can be run with JS-Insert. Specifically, I’m trying to base64 decode a string. I’m hoping I can run the atob() function against a field that contains the encoded string. Currently, the control just shows me whatever I type into the ‘JS to Execute’ field. Does anyone have any insight into how to accomplish this?

Nintex lookup SQL Server on prem 5000 record limitation bypass?

Our company’s customer master has more than 10000 records and we cant do a straight lookup to sql on premise due to the 5000 records limitation. Is there any way to get around this limitation so we can lookup fields? Has anyone encountered a similar situation?

Nintex i'm not receiving instance alerts

Hey folks I’ not receiving nintex i'm not receiving instance alerts when a work flow fails - I believe I have everything set up correctly. Ive checked my spam folder an nothing in that space has been received as well. This is in a production environment also. ++++++NOW RESOLVED +++++

Export workflow file via API to a repository?

I see in the April 2025 Release Notes that there is a new feature --“Import / Export Workflow File via API: You can now use the Nintex Workflow API to import and export workflow file-based definitions.“in the API page, it says, “Export a published workflow design to import it into another tenant.”I was wondering, “What if I don’t want to import into another tenant?”Can I simply export it from a custom program and store the workflow definition file in a repository, so I have some kind of software versioning process?Maybe -- I might have to try it out.  But I was going to check here first if anyone else has already done this.If not, I will develop something and post it here for your use.
