Nintex Workflow

Dear All,Hope you doing well. We are currently working on a project to display forms within a SharePoint iframe.We are encountering issues with scroll bars during the presentation of these forms inside SharePoint. We would like to pass the dimensions (length and width) of the forms from K2 to SharePoint using JavaScript.Is there any way to do this for individual forms, or is there a centralized location, such as a Master Page, where a global function could be implemented, given that we have more than 40 forms? Thanks.

Hi everyone. Today we will discuss how to use repeating section data in Nintex Automation Cloud start event forms. Use case: a printing company form that allows customers to request various types of printing equipment for rental.A few points to highlight in the demo:Customers can select multiple types of printing equipment in the form Form rules dynamically display the relevant data based on the chosen printing equipment Form totals up the cost with form rules using repeating data The workflow generates a document (a rental agreement) with repeating data The rental agreement is sent off for signature from customer using Nintex eSign The signed document is stored in SharePoint OnlineI also want to give a big shoutout to Jason Roberts for their help on this project. 

I added 12 new Yes/No columns to the forms list and also added the checkboxes to the start form but when I go to the task form I don’t see them anywhere in the Start Event Variables list so I can drag and drop on the task form.  I have tried closing and reopening the workflow, refresh F5 and nothing.  Is there a maximum number of Start Event Variables allowing on a task form?  I have 100.  

We have a component workflow running in NAC which returns values from a Person or Group column in SharePoint Online based on a text role name that is passed in to the component. We use the results from this column to create a string of email addresses which are passed back to the caller workflow for use with task approval and email notification actions. This effectively allows us to keep a single master list of all roles used for various task approvers on workflows throughout our organization. This component has been working fine since February and we have not changed the workflow actions nor the SharePoint list since that time. Yesterday July 10th, around midday EST, the component started returning an empty string after querying the list. The Person or Group column used to return the email address for a Person by default, now there is nothing. We have verified the query a list action is not failing, the column in question contains data, we can return values from other columns in the l

Hi,  There are four ‘groups’ ( sections ) on my form.  I am using the URL line to tell the form based on URL parameter(s) which form group(s) to show or hide.  Looking at the URL and the form that opens, the form is parsing correctly, and form rules pick up the parameter seen here and show only the section(s) I want opened when the form opens.   That’s the ‘=Yes’ you see here.The form properly is doing just that and one or many groups are hidden. Here is how the field is defined:   The field in the list though shows ‘No’ - should be ‘Yes’. Yet, The Forms rules are doing fine to properly open / close groups. My workflow though, in a ‘Branch by condition’ step is seeing what is coming over from the list for that checkbox-ApplicationOnly as ‘No’ and goes down the ‘No’ path. 

I have a simple Nintex Workflow Cloud form which displays follow up questions based on choice fields selected.Example:Choose your Company size.20-50 50-100 >100If a user selects “A”, my form should display, follow up questions associated with this selection. However, if the user let us say, decides to change his selection to B, the follow up rules which should refresh and display questions pertinent to choice B, do not refresh (follow up question do not change to reflect the new selection). Very annoying and irritating to some users. Any idea or recommendation is much appreciated.

We have a list in SharePoint Online, which uses Nintex Forms 365. A workflow has been created in Nintex Workflow Cloud (NWC) which is triggered upon creation of new list items. While there is usually minimal lag to trigger the workflow, in some instances it takes 7-10 minutes (or more), just to trigger the workflow, let alone process the workflow logic. To be clear, we are comparing the 'Created' SharePoint timestamp with the 'Instance Start Time' in NWC. Customers are not particularly impressed, especially considering that we didn't see such lag with Nintex365 workflows.Could you please advise the possible reasons for the delay, and how we can mitigate this from occurring. Thanks.

I have not seen a post on this topic in the Nintex Automation Cloud forum yet. How do I get all task approver comments written back to the list item? Is there a tutorial somewhere I can follow? I have successfully done this in NAC in other workflows where there is only one approver using the “First Response” object, but I have multiple people approving tasks in a new workflow. How can I get all of the info written back to the list item? I’m assuming I’ll have to do something with a collection variable to utilize the “Task responses” collection, as shown below, but I’m unsure of how to execute this logic to achieve what I’m looking for.  Could someone please outline the logic steps if this is possible?  I’d like to use this format: (Outcome) Task Responder - Current date and time - Comments 

Hi I have two questions here in regarding workflow backup and restoration.1. If a workflow is deleted by the workflow owner, is there any way to restore it? Or is workflow restoration a feature planned for future Nintex updates? 2. Since Nintex doesn't seem to support exporting workflows as physical files, what is the recommended approach for backing them up?Thanks

Hi,We’re facing an issue where a form is completed to hire a candidate and the initiator enters the candidate’s email address which is then used later in the workflow to ‘assign a task’. Sometimes, these email address are misspelt and nobody realises that the candidate did not receive the task at all until a week or two later it is escalated back to the initiator.Is there a way to track or alert to any bounced emails in Nintex by which this could be prevented?Thanks!

Hello,when I use the “Query a list” action in NAC to get a list item from SharePoint, the column with multiple users only returns the ids of the users. Is there a way to get the name of the user by using the ids? I could not find an action to achive this. Is there maybe a different way to get all the names from the column?Thank you and best regardsNiklas

I have a complex workflow that updates a Nintex group to match the membership of a corresponding AD group. It works most of the time, but it runs many steps and for 1 specific group, the workflow terminates, probably because it reaches some limit. I was wondering if you can take a look and see if you can help me optimize this workflow so it won’t run into these problems. Here is my workflow:The inputs are the Name of AD Group & the Name of Nintex Group (which are often the same). Action 1 - Get all the members of the AD group.Action 2 - Get all the Nintex Groups in the tenant (because I don’t yet know a method to get a Nintex Group by name without looping through all the groups).Action 3 - Get all the Nintex users in the tenant (because I don’t yet know a method to get a Nintex user by name without looping through all the users).Action 4 - Loop through each Nintex Group.Action 5 - If one Nintex Group name matches the group name we want, then run this next step:Action 6 - Loop throu

Is this an oversight when releasing this feature? Button (nintex.com) I do not see anywhere in the help documentation where in states the button control is ONLY for start event forms. Is there a feature on the roadmap (e.g., under Workflow settings > Workflow publishing) that would allow specific roles or groups to have permission to delete a workflow?Background: In our current support structure, workflow stewardship falls on citizen developers and workflow owners within the business. They proactively manage day-to-day troubleshooting, receive failure alerts, and escalate issues to IT if necessary. Currently, users with workflow owner permissions can delete workflows. However, until Nintex introduces a proper backup and restore feature, we cannot fully hand over management of our 400+ workflows to the business side. The risk of accidental deletion or, in the worst-case scenario, a compromised account resulting in malicious deletion, makes it critical to restrict the ability to delete workflows to certain user groups. This feature would be extremely beneficial.Any idea from best practise point-of-view is welcome :)

Is there a feature that enables alert on instance failure to form initiator?

I am attempting to change the instance name to reflect variables in the start form using the 'Set instance name.'  I understand that this action should change the instance name in the My Nintex dashboard to the selected variables in the action.  This will make the instance easily identifiable by the user. Is the action configured correctly?  There is no change in the name reflected in the My Nintex dashboard. See attached screenshots.  

Hello,I want to use the padLeft functionality to change a variable in my NAC workflow.Is it possible to use any functions in the workflow, or are they exclusivly for Nintex Forms?Using Nintex for SharePoint 2019 it was possible to use the functions inside of a workflow likefn-padLeft(txtDocumentID, 5, "0")Is there maybe a workaround to achive this without buildung a custom action for NAC?Thank you and best regardsNiklas

(https://ideas.nintex.com/ideas/CNV-I-314) We’re finding that the new Error Handling features are great - when they work.  Unfortunately, the vast majority of the errors we’ve gotten since its introduction still cause the workflows to fail. In almost all these cases, retrying the failing command would have succeeded, which is the point of the error handling. My assumption is that the errors we’re receiving aren’t setup to apply to Nintex’s error handling. Ideally (to me at least), this caveat wouldn’t even exist, and the error handling could apply to ALL instances where a step failed, regardless of how it failed. My question is this - If we have an error that we think error handling should be capable of catching, but isn’t, what is the preferred way for us to tell Nintex that we’d like to have it supported?  I presume either a support case or an Idea submission, but I’m making a forum post so that it’s public as to what way Nintex pre

Hi,   I have a workflow that is not giving the option to select ‘Current Item’.  I need that to loop.  below is a output from a ‘Query a List’ .  ID’s for records to interrogate I have available coming from SharePoint Online menu item  / a notification email shows each ID I need to hit.  but in the loop I”m only getting a single record even though appears I am hitting my list through all records.But only get the first tested record to send a run if true email based on conditions.      The Output →  result is of type file.

H, So I have a workflow that is scheduled to run monthly as a first step, next step is to interrogate a target list with a ‘Query List’ action.  Problem is I'm getting a first record that hits criteria but its not running through the whole list, It’s hitting the first record/ responding as expected / hits criteria fine and I get a notification email. Problem is that’s the only notification I’m getting, and I know there are more in that list that hit that criteria but are not sending me notifications for them.  I believe my list is not being looped through but I'm not sure what’s up.  Here is my workflow. The first email disabled is just me making sure I have what I need into the ‘IF TRUE THEN’ and then I only get one email.   I then get into the next step, ‘run if true’ but I’m only getting one response from what I believe is a correct hit to send a notification.  How do I have the workflow go through all the rest of the records and test / present if any of the other list’s records as

Is it possible to define a category in a NWC form when displaying in the Nintex Mobile app as we do in Nintex for Office 365?

Hi I have a scenario where i have multiple forms and each form different level of approvers and i have to create seperate workflow for each form  , so to make it dynamic i can create a component workflow with looping task assignees based on form and call the this component workflow for task assign on form submission , but the challenge is how do i pass the task form for approvals Please suggest any ideas on this. Thank you
