What if you could hold a conversation with your process automation platform to quickly generate a purchase order request, rather than spending time hunting down vendor codes, cost centers, and product specs while working through revision after revision? In this proof-of-concept session, I enabled that capability with Nintex Automation K2 and Claude desktop. Ride along with me to learn more! When Anthropic released the Model Context Protocol (MCP) as an open standard for connecting AI assistants to external systems, we started thinking about what it would look like to wire it up to K2 Five. So, to test it out I opened a conversation with Claude and we started building. What followed was one of the more interesting projects I have done in a while, and I wanted to share it with the Nintex community. Example use-case flowWhat Is MCP and Why Does It Matter for K2?The Model Context Protocol is a standard that lets AI models like Claude call out to external tools and APIs in real time during a
Hello together,I have an a string which look like this “test01@test.com;test02@test.com;test03@test.com”. No I want to loop through the string and send a spearate email to each email address. I tried this several times, but it won’t work in K2 Workflows Engine with the loop. Can you suggest me how I can build that kind of loop and send emails out?My workflow looks like that.Best regardsMatthias
Hi everyone. This is for my project. The scenario is the e-form will send out to the user and user will response through email outlook. That response (eg. Approve/decline) will determine the next progress in the workflow. Is there any possibility that the workflow or K2 five able to do such scenario? If can how can I setup in the workflow to receive the answer from outlook so that it will proceed to the next step?I just heard about smartAction that able to solve my problem. But how can I configure that smartAction since I dont have it in the K2 management. This is a new feature for me, so a bit confuses.
Hi everyone,I have a question about task assignments and PDF generation. When a task assignment is completed and the form is submitted, we can download the results as a PDF from Tracking. Is it possible to add a step in the workflow so that, once the task is completed, the generated PDF is automatically taken and stored in another location, for example in SharePoint?Has anyone implemented something similar or knows if this is possible? Thanks!
Hi,I’m looking for some advice on whether the number of days for marking a process as reviewed (currently 60 days) is configurable. For example, could it be extended to 90 days to better align with the “due in 3 months” dashboard notification? We’ve had some queries from users who begin their review when the process first appears in the 3‑month window, but are then unable to complete it. They receive a message stating that the process cannot be marked as reviewed until it is within 60 days of the review date.It would be helpful to understand whether this setting can be adjusted, or if there is a recommended way to manage this more effectively from a user perspective. Many Thanks
I have a Nintex Workflow online start form with a Choice - Single control set as a drop down. The Options setting in the control is set to use a Table Data variable to get values for a Data table. The column in the Data table is a Location name (which are City names).Locations were initially added to the Data table with those values being in alphabetical order. New rows were added in table, but those values appear at the bottom of the table and are not in alphabetical order. On the form, the values in the Choice - Single form control appear in the order that they were entered and not in alphabetical order. I am looking a way to sort the choices alphabetically in the Choice - Single dropdown control. Is there a way to do this?Order of rows entered into the Data table and how they display in the choice drop down control on the form:AtlantaBostonChicagoNew YorkLos AngelesBaltimoreHoustonDesired way for then to display in the choice drop down control on the form (in alphabetical order):Atla
Hi there,We were running through an Incident that was reported through Improvements and the Incident owner was able to close it even though we have a different user as the portfolio manager. I thought the portfolio manager had to close the incident. How does the incident closer settings work? Should this have happened? Thanks,Bella

One of the most common challenges we come across is: “How do I let users submit multiple related items in a single form, while keeping my data structured and my automation flexible?”Many real-world use cases like equipment requests, expense claims, orders and inspections don’t fit neatly into a single‑record model. They need one primary record with many related items.Repeating Sections are now supported in forms linked directly to tables, unlocking powerful new design and automation patterns. How is this enabledPreviously, Repeating Sections were only available in forms attached directly to workflows. This update expands that capability and gives builders more control over how and when automation runs.Repeating Sections can now be added to forms linked to a tableDesign rich, relational data capture experiences without requiring the form itself to be workflow‑bound.Greater flexibility in workflow execution using table eventsTrigger workflows as needed with greater flexibility e.g. on cr
Hi,I have a K2 list view which uses a list display for one of the column controls. The control is bound to a field called “AnswerID”, and uses a smartobject called “Answers”, which contains the answer ID and description. This all works and displays the answer description when the ID is present in the underlying list view smartobject dataset. We also want to provide a way to update this answer, so in the Add/Edit row I have a drop-down list which is populated by another smartobject: “QuestionAnswers”. This contains the list of possible Answer IDs given the current Question ID. The display value is looked up from the associated “Answers” smartobject and the ID field is the AnswerID. When a row enters edit mode, this drop-down is populated for the relevant question. This also works.Where I am running into an issue is when applying the changes to the edited row. It appears that the selected AnswerID is being populated into the underlying smartobject, but the list display control still shows
Hi there,Just curious on any suggestions on best practice when receiving duplicate incident reports in the improvements module. For example, we currently have an incident that is under investigation/action and not yet resolved, so we are likely to continue receiving reports of the issue with examples that would assist with our currently in progress incident. Our thoughts to combine these would be to take a screenshot of the new report and upload it to the investigation section of the ongoing incident. Then deleting the new report as we will have all the information on this now included in the ongoing one.Would be great to hear others thoughts. Thanks!

Hi everyone,I want to learn Nintex K2. I have no prior knowledge of K2 or SharePoint.I have a few questions I hope the community can help me with:1. Is SharePoint knowledge required before learning K2, or can I go straight into K2 without it?2. What is the recommended learning path/roadmap for a complete K2 beginner? Specifically: - Which Nintex University learning paths should I start with and in what order? - Are there specific YouTube resources or playlists from the official Nintex channel that are worth following? - Are there any other resources (docs, books, tutorials) that helped you when starting out?3. As a developer, are there any concepts or topics I should prioritize that are especially relevant to the technical/developer side of K2?4. What are the most common mistakes beginners make when starting with K2 that I should avoid?Any advice from people who have been through this journey would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Got a Choice Control with 5 items with multiple option selection enabled. The last option in the list is Other, when the user ticks that box, I want it to make a textarea become visible underneath, A advanced rule works if you only pick the Other box and it shows/hides the textarea accordingly. However, if the user picks another item and the Other option, then it doesn;t work. With Multiple data type, i did a message and it shows the value as Option1;Option2 etc etc. So i assumed I could you advanced rule to say if Choice CONTAINS the Other value, but it won’t work. Why doesn’t the advanced condition work? The Choice control has two items picked, so you would think I could that in an advanced condition to say if it contains Other then do something. Any ideas?
