Nintex Workflow Cloud - Repeating Tables in Document Generation

A customer recently reached out with a complex document generation scenario requiring a specific format for their repeating fields. They needed to pass a variety of variables including collections to a component workflow via a webhook and then generate a repeating table from this data. The first thing we needed to do in this situation is to parse the data in the collection out into multiple collections, the amount of collections will depend on how many individual data points you want to pull from the initial collection.  In this case the customer parsed out 2 data points into two separate collections. Now you might think that we could just generate the repeating table with the two collections.  Setting up your template for the repeating table like this. This however did not give us the result we were looking for, the result looked something like this.  Which is obviously not how we wanted the table of data to look  After a little trial and error, we discovered that what we needed to do

Hi, Everyone,I wanted to let you know that the latest release of Nintex RPA is now available. Please see the release notes for details and download links, but here are some new/updated Help topics: RPAC API (updated) Audit logs (new!) Instance details (updated) Access denied troubleshooting (updated)   You'll see that audit logging is now available in RPA Central. Go to the Settings page (admin access only), and you can download the last 120 days of events from both RPA Central and all registered Bots. You can control the number of days events are stored and analyze those events in your favorite data analysis tool of choice. We've also improved the way each Bot communicates with RPA Central, so if you were still experiencing botflows stuck in a queued state or Bots going offline, please install these releases at your earliest convenience. Delegate Task for the Business Owner Role in Nintex Workflow Cloud

In this blog I am going to go through the recently released manual delegation feature for the Business Owner role in Nintex Workflow Cloud.  Manual Delegation of a Task by the Business Owner With a recent update in Nintex Workflow Cloud, we now have the ability for a user that is assigned as a Business Owner of a workflow to delegate a task to another user/s.    The first thing we need to do make sure that the user has permissions as a Business Owner to the workflow.    After granting the Business Owner Role permission the user will be able to go to the My Nintex section of Nintex Workflow Cloud, and by selecting Workflow Tracking on the left-hand side they will see all the workflows they are a Business Owner of.  They can then select the workflow they want to look at and see all the instances of that workflow.  Now we can select the workflow instance we want to look at by clicking on the name and in the flyout window on the right-hand side of the page we will see all the information a

Important update regarding K2's integration with DocuSign

DocuSign has announced a change for authentication techniques by deprecating legacy authentication and OAuth 1.0 protocols. Since August 2021, any new API applications integrating with DocuSign must use the OAuth 2.0 authentication flow. By October 4, 2022, all existing DocuSign customers and partners integrating with DocuSign must be updated to use OAuth 2.0, including applications already in production. Nintex Workflow Cloud New Feature: Workflow testing for SharePoint Online start events

There are many ways to start a workflow in Nintex Workflow Cloud (NWC)...such as, submitting an NWC form, on a schedule or even by updating a record in Salesforce. One common way in which NWC workflow starts is based on items being created or updated in SharePoint Online. Many Nintex customers have SharePoint Online in their landscape and many also have used, or still use Nintex Workflow for O365. Nintex strongly recommends that those using Nintex Workflow for O365 consider migrating their workflow to NWC to take advantage of the many additional features that NWC provides, such as, the myriad of prebuilt connectors to third party systems and the My Nintex and Workflow Tracking consolidated views of processes. For those customers that are already running their SharePoint workflows in NWC, or for those considering migrating, Nintex has added additional support for the testing of workflows based on the SharePoint Online start event. Let's reiterate some basics. Gmail and Exchange Online Authentication Changes Coming

Hi, Everyone, I wanted to let you know that changes are coming soon to how you can authenticate for sending and receiving email using a Gmail or Exchange Online account. Google is turning off Basic authentication at the end of this month (May 2022) and Microsoft is doing it on October 1st, 2022. This means that after this time you cannot use a username and password in your email connection in RPA to send, receive, and work with emails from these systems in your botflows. For Google you can setup what's known as an App Password and use that in your RPA connection. Many of you are doing this today. However, the plan is to release an updated version of RPA in the coming weeks that allows you to use OAuth for Gmail. Google is not going to remove support for App Passwords so if you're using that today you won't have to do anything come June 1st, 2022. At some time before October 1st, 2022, we'll release an updated version of RPA to handle OAuth for Exchange Online. Both of these options wil

Excel as Middleware and Multipickst Field

Excel as Middleware is one of my favorite functionality with Drawloop, however it's hard to wrap your head around it at first or what kind of use cases are best for using this functionality. As there's millions of ways to use this functionality, here's an example of one that I see often that gets asked which is to separate the value from multi-picklist fields.  Here's a quick recap on how iExcel as Middleware works: You can push Salesforce data from Excel and manipulate the data on how you would like it to look like. From there you can push the manipulated data from Excel to your Word or PowerPoint template (or even use the data for Insert-Updates).I recommend having the Excel file as the first template on your package as Drawloop will process documents in the sort order of the template. You can also have the Excel file start to end page set to 0 to 0 which will have the Excel do the caluclation it needs to do and the end user generating the document does not see the Excel file as part

Configuring AssureSign in your NWC Workflows using Document Generation

As a follow up to the previous blog post I created about using AssureSign with Nintex Workflow Cloud to capture data and get electronic signatures,  this post is will show if you are using Document Generation in your Nintex workflows how you can send that generated document to AssureSign for signature.  You may want to use document generation to create the document to send to AssureSign in cases where the documents may be more complex, you need to combine multiple documents into on document, you have a repeating section that you want to include in the document.   Creating Your Template in Nintex AssureSign When using document generation in Nintex Workflow Cloud you will still need to have a template within AssureSign but instead of having to create all the jotblocks and sender inputs all we will need to do in this case is create a blank template and add the jotblocks to it for the initials and signatures we need to capture.  To start click on View Templates in the left hand navigation

Save and Continue for Authenticated Start Forms - Nintex Workflow Cloud

Filling a large form can be time consuming and it may not be possible to fill out the form in one sitting. By utilizing the new Save and Continue feature available for authenticated Start forms, participants are now able to save the progress and resume it later without the need to start over.   It is super easy to enable Save for a form. All you have to do to is navigate to the Action panel in the forms designer and enable the Save button as shown in the image below.  When the workflow is published, participants will have the option to fill in part of the form and save and come back to continue from where they stopped at a later time.   To return to the saved draft form, navigate to the Forms section under My Nintex where all the draft forms will be listed, open the draft form and continue.  A couple of important notes:Any published changes made to the form will automatically update all draft forms. Configuring AssureSign in your NWC Workflows

The workflow and document template I am walking through in this blog and video is available to download from our Nintex Gallery at this link.  Creating Your Template in Nintex AssureSign The first thing we will need to do is create the template in AssureSign that we will be passing data to from Nintex Workflow Cloud.  I am using a word document, which I will upload into AssureSign in order to create the template   To start creating the template click on View Templates in the left hand navigation  Then on the next screen you will need to click on create template, give your template a name and click continue  Then you need to drag and drop your word document into AssureSign  Now we can start to build out our template, we need to add a signer and then we will have the ability to create our JotBlocks on the template which is where the information we collect in Nintex Workflow Cloud will be passed into. In order to do this, drag a JotBlock from the right hand menu onto the template where yo
