Publishing a development workflow defaults to production on next publish
Do others get this issue? I have a workflow that is type: Development. The next time I open the workflow in designer and then publish again it defaults to Production for type. I find it annoying and a times I miss it and my test/dev workflow as miscategorised as Production when they should be Development. It would be great when a workflow is already publised that the type value on the publish dialog persists from the previous value.
Format number to string with no commas or decimals
Hello. I want to convert 4 or more digit numbers to strings that don't have any punctuation. For example, when I format the number 4444 to a string and choose "Number" as the format. The resulting string is "4,444.0". I want the result to be "4444". How can I achieve that? Thank you.
Attachment column in Sharepoint
Hello, i'm using a NWC workflow to pull data from a form and create an item in a Sharepoint List.I've enabled the attachment column in my Sharepoint settings, and my items now have an attachment field.I want to use my form to upload a file, and then put this file in my attachment column in my workflow, but my nintex "Create an Item" action doesn't allow me to select the attachment column in my sharepoint list as a field. Is there a way to interact with the Sharepoint Attachment column through NWC?Thanks
Decision Loop Limitations
I have read this post that describes how decision loops to activities in the same process are not supported by design. However this means that simple processes are being broken into different 'sub processes' to work around this limitation - making the simple process fractured and harder to understand a loop is generally a simple one step reiteration until the process can continue forward.I assume this is a technical driven decision, are there any plans to revisit this? I am trying to look to document our business processes but this omission becomes problematic. What other suggested workarounds are there that no not require simple processes to be split across multiples and loses the simplistic visual of the process.Examples - a weekly meeting to review testing, the output is either testing is resolved and the process continues or further testing is required and the loop moves back to the prior activity. Or an approval step that may require rework and resubmission etc...Many thanks

Send attachments from on Prem Nintex form to WFC
I have an eform that is running in my on prem Sharepoint 2016 environment. I have a step where an outside entity needs to approve a portion of the form. I've added the start workflow in NWC control on my list and it is uploading the necessary list fields needed. I added the attachments property to this step and connected it to a file start variable in NWC. When I try to send this variable as an attachment in an email or task notice, there is no attachment in the message. When I look at the instances, I can see the various items populating the start variables and for the attachments variable it only says "true". Is there something I'm missing or is this function not possible?
Create NWC Form from SharePoint List Form
The NWC Upgrade FAQ indicates that List forms cannot be upgraded. I have almost 300 SharePoint O365 List forms that I would like to recreate in NWC. I thought about leaving them in SharePoint and starting the NWC workflow on a new or modify event. However, I will lose the "My Nintex" functionality of "Submit a form", "Form submissions", "Favorite forms" and "Draft forms". I have tried to "Export" the form from SharePoint and Import the form into NWC, but I get the error message: "This form is incompatible with this version." The forms are quite complex with many rules, so it will take a life-time to recreate them. Is there anyway to copy a SharePoint list form over to NWC without creating it from scratch?
Form access settings
Just reading through the overnight release notes for NWC / NAChttps://help.nintex.com/en-US/platform/ReleaseNotes/NintexWorkflowCloud.htm#October-2022-Release-2 And there is a new form access setting.https://help.nintex.com/en-US/nwc/Content/Settings/FormSettings.htm#FormAccess And I get what the setting does in that all new start or task forms can only be authenticated, but given we can set a form to be authenticated or anonymous on per form setting, I'm trying to understand the use cases where we would set this at a tenancy level.Thoughts anyone?
Prefill form from lookup -SharePoint list or SQL?
I am looking for a little direction here as I keep seeing posts from this that is was supposed to be released last year but dont see instructions on how it is done. Would like to auto populate form field from a SharePoint list lookup or SQL.. if there is a better way, i am open to that. Thank you.
Parse JSON For Paging (nextLink) Link
I am using an HTTP API call to get all users in our organization. There are ~1200 active users, so there are multiple pages returned. I can't figure out how to parse JSON to get the nextLink for each page. I'm not using the Nintex 'AAD Query Users' action because it doesn't return the user guid, but even if it did, it also goes to a new page at 999. Everything I've found via Google says that JSONPath query:$["@odata.nextLink"]should result in the link, but this fails everywhere I've tried it, including several different JSONPath query testers. I've tried it with single quotes, with brackets, without brackets, with and without the dollar sign, without the '@'... ad nauseum. When I load the data into Power Automate to get the schema, it comes in as"@@odata.nextLink"This also doesn't work. Has anyone built a workflow that successfully loops thru pages of results that could show me how you pull the nextlink URL? Better yet. is there a pagination option somewhere that I'm missing?(Nintex, w
Get Members of a SharePoint Group
This workflow action is not correctly pulling up custom SharePoint groups I've added to my site. It's only pulling up the default Owners, Members, and Visitors group. I've added several new custom groups to my site, and the account used in the SharePoint Online connection is part of the owners group that owns these groups. Yet, the drop-down doesn't display these additional groups. It only shows the Owners, Members, and Visitors groups. Seems like this is a bug.
Custom Sharepoint List Query
I am trying to generate documents for users hired after a certain date plus the ability to include specific users. Users are stored in a Sharepoint list. My base form includes a date field, plus a repeating section with a data lookup field to select users. In traditional SQL, I would just use "SELECT * FROM users WHERE date<[datefield] AND user_id IN (id1, id2, ...)" to get all of these results in a single stack. How can I recreate this type of functionality using NWC and Sharepoint Lists so that I have a single collection to DocGen. Every design pattern I think of hits a dead-end (lack of two-dimensional arrays and the ability to merge collections of Sharepoint items...).
Why won't the Generate Document function read a hidden field?
So I've got an NWC form that writes data to a PDF document using the Generate Document function. I have it close to working, but there's one problem. I have a hidden text field in my form whose value is determined by a visible Single Choice field. I'm using the value of the hidden field to write to the PDF document and to an email that is generated at the end of the workflow. But it seems the Word document from which the PDF is generated isn't placing a value where I want it, even though there is a document tag in those locations. The areas are left blank. However, if I make the hidden field visible, everything works fine. Does the Document Tagger not work with data in hidden fields? If not, why?
Retrieve Groups results in 403
In a NWC Workflow, I am using the "Get members of a SharePoint group" action. My selected Connection is a "SharePoint Online: List and libraries connection" and I am a site collection administrator and member of the owner group of the chosen site. The connection has been established with the same user.If I click on "Retrieve groups", I get an 403 What could cause such an permission issue?
Workaround to convert a string to date variable in NWC workflow
I needed it, others needed it and it isn't in the NWC Toolkit yet. So, we'll have to do it ourselves for now: Convert a date in text format into a date variable. Here is how it goes:For this example we assume the text date is in the ddmmyyyy format. In the code below you'll see how to change it for other formats. It's sad that we have to (ab)use a component workflow for this but until there is a decent action that does it we'll have to do it this way I guess. Input for the component workflow : a text variable with a date in ddmmyyyy format Output: a date type variable (ignore the time part as we all live in different time zones)Here is the sequence of actions:The trick is that we use 1-1-2020 as a reference date to add the difference in days and months from the input. The actions with the green numbers are explained in detail below. First create a new component workflow and define your variables:Workflow variables:The numbered actions in detail:0 is the position where the day starts.2
Upgrading to Cloud "Assign a Task" Task Form to update SP list
I'm upgrading a 365 workflow to Nintex Cloud that used Assign a Task's Task Form to send an email to the assignee. The email links to the Task Form for the assignee to complete, which included updating a multi-line text field connected to a list item. In my example (screenshots below), the list item to be updated by the assignee is "Font Storage Location". In 365, the assignee was able to enter in the text in the multi-line text box, and it would update the list item "Font Storage Location". After upgrading to Cloud the same task form appears to be prohibited from connecting to list items, so updating via a form seems to be a lost function. When I try to change the textbox to "no" for read only, I get the message "You cannot edit this field because the value is associated with a workflow outcome, start event, or user-defined variable". "Font Storage Location" is a Start Variable, so is it just impossible to use Task Forms or anything similar to achieve the function 365 could do? Or is
Getting the value of a SharePoint Lookup column in NWC workflow
I have not been able to find this answered else, so I apologize if it has already been answered. We are migrating our workflows from SharePoint 2013 to NWC and we frequently use values from the SharePoint look-up column types in the list in our workflows. These are normally stored in the list as an ID for the value in the related list. The SharePoint workflow products appear to be able to provide the value from the look-up column without an additional query, but NWC only provides the ID of the look-up column value in the start object. What is the best approach to get the mapped value from the lookup column?
