Nintex Cloud Form with Repeating Section save to SharePoint list item

To display the repeating section in Sharepoint Online form, the repeating section data is required to transform to XML format. One of the ways to do this is described in the community post.

​@pawankolaki Thank you for the response. This solution doesn’t solve the problem of displaying the NWC repeating data on a SP Online form IN a repeating section.

Unfortunately, I do not think what you are trying to achieve is possible.
Even if you convert the Nintex Workflow JSON repeating section to XML and update a SharePoint column linked to a repeating section in a Nintex for O365 form, the form will not read the updated column. Nintex for O365 forms only read repeating section data that is first submitted with the form, which means the data cannot be initially updated by any other method.

​@SimonMuntz - Why the different formats? I understand that the repeating section data XML has the guid of the fields, I would have to get the Guids from SP online and convert it the JSON to XML and apply the guids. We have tried to do this in workflow but it’s a pain and we never really got it to work quite right.

Thank you for your questions.
As per my previous post, the issue is not between JSON and XML; the issue is that the Nintex for O365 form will not recognise the repeating section unless the form has been submitted with repeating section data. After the form has been submitted, the data can be changed by an external means. This means that just writing the data to SharePoint from a Nintex Workflow will never work.
