File Upload Control

I created a workflow that starts with a form which has a file upload control.  To extract the attached files from the the form, and added a ‘loop for each’ and ‘get item from collection’ actions to the workflow.  However, when the associated variable is included as a file attachment in an email, only 1 attachment appears.  How do I get all the file uploaded in the file upload control attached to the email?  SGhyydeZQuTQkVnCf1LtNhyY2tsRxppsSXRGkfy1HEkj4P3ES

NAC does not recognize SharePoint Column

Hello,I have created a component workflow that will be running against 100+ lists. The site and list name are passed to the component. On many occasions, the workflow fails with an error message 'Column xxx does not exist'. However, the column does exist. In fact, the missing column is used as a trigger to start the workflow. If the column was missing, then the workflow would not even start.\For example,the initial workflow has a start condition [FormAction] = Submit. If the initial workflow runs, I pass the List Name and ID to a component site.  When the component site tries to update [FormAction], it errors out with “Column FormAction does not exist”.  Other forms update with no problem. Do you have any idea why this may happen?

SharePoint Online Person or Group field with Multiple Selections

I'm trying to send an email to the users listed in a SharePoint Online list field that's configured as a "Person or Group" field and that also allows multiple selections. All I can see in the workflow designer are the ID's. I have other fields on this same list that are also "Person or Group" fields but are configured to allow only a single selection. For these fields I am able to see the display name and email address of that person in the workflow designer. Clearly there's an issue here with my one field that allows multiple selections. Since all I can get back are the ID's for those people, how do I get their email addresses?

Um, how do we go about starting a workflow for conditions on previous value of list item?We are migrating to NAC from sharepoint on-premise for some of our sites. I cannot figure out how to replicate this! Thanks!

Nintex Workflow Cloud API Xtension - Issues with UK and AU tenants

I have deleted and readded the Xtension to our UK tenant and I cannot resolve the issues I’m experiencing. Is there a disconnect with other tenants other than US? I cannot replicate this Xtension in UK or AU tenant. I am using “eu” so I’m not entirely sure why it’s not rendering our workflows to pass to drop downs. It was working a year ago when I made copies of our process to the UK and AU, now it’s not working. :(

Repeating Section information into Document Generation

HI,  I have a Nintex form in a SharePoint list that includes a Repeating Section. I would like to present the information from this form in a document using Document Generation. Printing Avery Labels from NAC

Have a customer that wanted to print Avery Labels from a SP List. Originally they were using an Avery label template in Word and cutting and pasting . I found a great video that showed how to export from a SP List to Excel and then print the labels. To eliminate the export process I created an NAC workflow that queried the SP List then used DocGen to populate an Excel template file, then emailed the generated Excel file to the person that prints the labels.  The time consuming part is adjusting the template cells to match the label sheet. You have to mess with the height and width of the cells to get it to match. The units in Excel are points, height is measured in points (72 points to the inch) Width is measured in points (12 points to the inch). Then as covered in the video, you want the printing margins to be zero, and the page centered vertically and horizontally. The data source can be any data (collection), doesn’t have to be a SP List.The video below demonstrates how to format a

NAC Component workflow Input variables mandatory

All,I am developing a component workflow and will call this workflow from another workflow for SharePoint online.  I have created 4 input variable/parameters inside the component workflow.  I want to make sure that these parameters must be passed to component workflow when calling from another workflow.  I don’t see any setting/configuration where I can declare the input parameters as “REQUIRED” or “MANDATORY”.  Do anyone know how if this can be done?Thank you

Dynamic Instance Id

Hi All,We have a requirement where every new instance should have an numerical ID.For example, if I raise a new travel request now, it should have "01", and then every new instance should have the next one in incremental order. I have found that we have "instanceID", but that is quite long, and "newGuidAsString" is also lengthy.We just need an ID that starts with "1" and then increments with every new instance started, regardless of whether instance is completed or failed. So, I can use that value as the instance name.I am sure this functionality would be there but it’s that I am not able to find it out. Thanks & Regards

Error handing in SharePoint 'Get a File' action

Latest release: March 2024 - Release 1 - Renaming of Workflows

This is great. Glad we can rename workflows now. :) Please consider making some improvements that may have been overlooked during this enhancement/update in NAC.  Instances will no longer be filterable by the workflow name. You will not get a full picture of all instances under any given workflow if the workflow has been renamed. Below is an example if I filter for the new name of my workflow.  Below is how I have to pull both instances of the same workflow now which is not ideal if it’s completely renamed to something entirely different:  RecommendationsOption 1: Update workflow instance history to reflect latest name of a given workflow when it’s renamed, that way we can filter by a workflow, regardless of name changes. Option 2: Consider adding the workflow ID to the publish dialog box as read-only field and add custom filtering for workflow ID in the “custom filter” section of instances. Option 3: Add a new “Info” selection in ellipsis on a workflow that has information about the w

Assign a form to multiple users for feedback

I have created a form that, when submitted, requires multiple users (reviewers) to provide feedback before the form can be approved.  I have used the 'assign task to multiple users' action to forward the form to each user.  Each user received an email with a link to the form, and the form has a Text-Long form field where the assigned user can add feedback.  I have set the completion rules to 'all users must respond' and the assignment behavior as 'sequential.'  The next step in the workflow is for the approver to review the feedback from each assignee and approve or reject the form.  How do I collect all the feedback from each user?  At present, the approver can only see the first assignee's feedback.

What is the best way to organize a large quantity of workflow tasks in NAC for end users?

As we’re ramping up volume on some NAC workflows, there’s a bit of confusion for users who have a higher number of tasks assigned.Because you can’t use the dashboard to search any other attributes of a workflow instance (unlike in the automate→ tasks panel where you can), they have to go through large numbers to locate specific tasks they’re able to complete.It seems like we could change the tasks to be unique (add the workflow name to the task name), but then this would make analytics more difficult at a higher level.The best search tool seems to only be available if we give folks designer or higher role, but we don’t really want everyone to have access to add or change workflows necessarily.Am I missing something or is there no great way to actually filter through outstanding tasks without clicking each one to locate, or ruining your analytics by naming them?

Automation Cloud - SharePoint Choice Column - Predefined Choices for user

Good day, I have a SharePoint Online list, with a Choice field (Department) for the user to select from to create a new entry.  ex. Marketing, Sales, Finance, and DevelopmentLet’s say the SharePoint list is new, there are no records from user submissions. Can I access the SharePoint choice control, and use the SharePoint choice column’s available selections for users to populate my Nintex form? If yes, how?  If no, are my options:Hardcode the  Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Development choices directly into the Nintex form, or Use the Data lookup and create another SharePoint list where I prepopulate it with; Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Development records.

Access SharePoint Online calculated column via NAC Data sources in a NAC form

Hello,I created a Nintex Data source using the SharePoint Online connection and 'Query a list’ operation.  The SharePoint list contains three text columns and one calculated column in which the output is also text. The formula is just = CONCATENATE([Col1][Col2][Col3]). Only alpha characters are being concatenated, no commas or other special characters. I have a single item right now in my list.If I add this calculated column in the Columns section of the NAC Data source, and then attempt to use the column on a NAC Form with the Data lookup or Choice - Single (dropdown view) controls  I get a data load error.If I remove the calculated column from the Columns section of the NAC Data source, I am able to load data in the NAC form controls.Is what I am trying to do possible in a NAC Form? If not, can I use formulas in the NAC Form to present a drop down list of the three columns as a single concatenated list item?Thanks,Adam

Capturing user data from an embedded form

I’m designing a form that I would like to embed on a page in SharePoint, rather than provide a link to it. But to embed a form in NAC, you have to give form access to “anyone with the form URL.” Obviously this is primarily intended for public forms where you don’t have any user data unless you explicitly ask for it on the form. I’m trying to avoid having to ask for any user data because the form will be for internal use only, accessed only by authenticated users.I was trying to rig up a way to go and grab the user data from the NAC instance, something like this:On the form, use the newGuidAsString function to generate a unique identifier. Use that unique identifier to Set instance name in the workflow. Somehow find that single instance in NAC and grab the user data from it.I thought maybe the Get workflow instances function would do the trick, but you can’t set conditions in it (such as “when NAC instance name = unique identifier”) and it doesn’t seem to capture user data anyway.I’m gu

Workflow designer - unwanted shortcuts

I noticed sometimes in workflow designer for the Nintex Cloud it sometimes does some unwanted things, as if there is some shortcuts that I don’t want. When I click the mouse on the actions and then click on another spot in some combination, it flips those 2 actions around. And in some case, I think it deletes the action. I don’t know exactly which combination of clicks does what, but I don’t want it. And there is no “undo” button when it happens. It can really mess up my workflow. Does anyone know if these are “shortcuts” that Nintex designed and how to disable them?

How to replace text with blank value

Hello,I have a issue I’ve run into where I need to simply remove specific words from a text field and load into a variable.  I’m trying to use the Replace Regular Expression action and it’s working perfect except the Replacement text field is mandatory, how would I go about making sure it simply just deletes the specific words?Text field will have the letters “DS” in each item and I just need it removed from the field each time. I tried “” but that didn’t help.

Zendesk in Workflows - Can we set the requestor?

While Im not new to Nintex, I am new to using Zendesk with it. I am trying to get to some fields in order to recreate Zendesk ticket builds and get our team out of Zapier. Im noticing that some Zendesk fields that they are hitting in Zapier are not available in the Nintex Zendesk Action but the most confusing is the ‘Requestor’ field. I am trying to make sure that I submit the form and create the ticket based on the request coming from that user and not the user who authorized the Zendesk connector.Any Zendesk/Nintex pros around to help me out?
