Get FileName from FileAttachment into a label

Hello,  I have a K2 view with a File attachment bind to a SMO wich write file in DB. I would like to retrieve his filename with extension in a label. The solution that i found is to make XML treatment into DB with SQL  to retrieve fileName.. DO you know a better solution ? Thanks in advance,

Deployment Package stuck on "Preparing Package...."

Hi all, Anyone had this before? Trying to migrate a form across from old v4.6.11 server to v4.7. Managed to package it up, but when i go to deploy on destination server its just stuck on "Preparing Package...." for the last 3-4 hours The package is around 245MB and includes the Data for the smartobjects. Any ideas why?

Howto Identify the Old/Non used Workflows to cleanup K2 Workspace...

Learning K2 was interesting, and leave a lot of orphanned Workflows in different categories and many that are listed in workspace but not necesarly in Designer. Deleting the workflows from designer in K2 4.6.9 did not delete from workspace leaving more memory usage that not need to be there taking resources. I wonder if somebody has a suggestion on how to determine what workflows have not been used trigerred lets said within the last 6 months, this will give indication of perhaps was orphanned and not used to start doing some house cleanup and delete it for good. I'm even thinking to create SMO's directly out of the K2 Tables to be able to pull the references and figure it out how is everything working. there are way to many processes and like to keep things lean.... THX Dino.

Date displayed in list view one day behind actual date in the database SO is pointed at

This is really strange... I have a SO pointed at a SQL database where it pulls in two dates from the table. In both cases, when looking at these records in a list view, the date in the list view is one day behind the actual date in the database.  As we're talking about effective dates for insurance, all these dates are the first of the month. So, for example, if the record in the SQL database for ID 12345 is 12/01/2016 the date showing on my list view is 11/30/2016.  Or, if the date is 01/01/2017 the date on my list view is 12/31/2016.  I've confirmed that there are no expressions taking a day away on the column, and that the fields are mapped correctly in the smart object... Anyone have any thoughts on this one? Rob

SaveAsPDF Control takes a long time!

The save as pdf control is taking between 30 and 60 seconds to complete. Is this normal?  If not, what can I do about it?  I've built a very basic test form with 3 labels  a button and the SaveAsPDF takes over 30 seconds to cmoplete.  Thanks in advanceCraig

Enable and Disable a row in Editable List View

Hello Everyone, I am not sure if this is as starightforward as it looks. "How to Enable / Disable a row in an Editable List View based on output of another column" Ex:The list view has 2 coln say Question and Response . QUestion is of type text and Response is a dropdownlist with values "True" or "False"When the list view is loaded, it shows for ex:10 rows , out of which Row 2 is disabled (not sure how to do this).IF I select Response for Row 1 as "False" , then Row 2 should be enabled .  One option may be to do so by adding a button and then firing a rule on button click.  Is there any way to do so without having any button click ? Hope I was clear in framing my issue. Appreciate any resposne. Thanks and Regards,Satya

Error when deploying package

How to prevent email notifications from workflow in dev/test environments

I would like to modify a workflow so that based on say an environment variable (e.g. SendEmails = "true") notification emails get sent to the destination users only in the production environment. In the dev/test environments (e.g. SendEmails = "false") I want to send the emails to the process originator instead. What I'm trying to avoid is having to modify the workflow each time when deploying to dev/test vs production environments. Currently my task notification emails are being sent using a seperate email event just prior to the client event, rather than by using the "Notify participants when they receive a work item" option on the client event. Has anyone come up with an elegant solution for this? I suppose I could use an expression on the To: field for the email event, but that would be a bit complicated I think.

Managed Metadata field retrieval incredibly slow performance

Hi. We have an MMS field with several thousand terms (~7000). In out-of-the-box SharePoint we have autosuggestions as we type and the retrieval, although not instant, is very fast considering the amount of terms. On our K2 forms, it takes 30+ seconds to resolve an entered term, and there is apparently no autosuggestion. Is this an expected behaviour? What can be done about any of these issues? Thanks in advance.

K2 Management - Roles and AD Groups

Only new to K2, so bear with me..We have setup a role to use within a workflow.  We currently have 3 members in the role.We want to have an AD group with many members added to the role.We have done this, but the users in the AD group are not getting any workflow, or email notification of tasks assigned AD group is Universal Distribution Group - Mail enabledThe AD group can receive emails directly from outlook

Resolve a role based on User/groups assigned in a single K2 role !! Urgent

Hi All, I need a workaround for a specific condition regarding K2 Roles . I have requirement  wherein i have to create a single role in K2 Workspace wherein i am creating the role using a smartobject with different inputs and fetching users .Now if any one of the users from each Users/Groups has taken action it will be available to other users/groups in same role . So once from each users/groups in a role had taken the action then only it will move forward to other activities . Any help is highly apprciated or any other workarounfd for the same .  Note :  I am reating a single role because as per the requirement i have many divisions and then need to create several roles accordingly which is not feasible.  Thanks ,Chiru

Workflow loop through the users in a SP permission group

Hello there, I'm looking to use a workflow to get the users belonging to a SP2013 permission group, then create a task for each one of them, so that they can complete the task assigned to them asynchronously. I know how to do it for a list, but not a SP permission group. I'd prefer to accomplish this workflow using K2 Designer, but K2 Studio works just as well. Thanks in advance for your assistance! Best Regards,Che

Service Object Methods

I am new to K2.  I am trying to build a K2 process that provides a department with courses that they teach on rotation for them to approve, deny or adjust.  I'm thinking there would be a list view of the departmental courses and a detail view of the information for the section.  I have created a Service Instance for an old database that I have been playing around with.  They do not have a current database, they are using Excel.  It has been suggested that I "Create the smartobject in its entirety in the smartobject service tester.  This will bypass the need to assign Service Methods in K2 Designer."  How do I do this?

View chrome: hide the title/header bar and button toolbar

Hi, We are developing a smartform that has 4 tabs, each tab containing a portion of the entire form's content. The intent is to have a turbotax style wizard, only displaying the information applicable for that point in the process. We have a final tab for reviewing all the entered information (using data transfer rules to populate along the way) and we wanted to re-use the existing views but disable some visual elements on them. We want to hide the View's collapsible title bar and the button toolbar on this review tab. I have seen another forum post related to hiding the view title bar but it mentions custom themes. Is there a view property we can target to turn off the title bar and button toolbar without themes? Thanks in advance,-Todd

Error occurred trying to Execute (SmoSPListItem) - Microsoft.SharePoint.Client.ServerException

I am using a smart object created on a SharePoint list service instance. when I try to fill in some paramters to get all list items it is giving me following error Error occurred trying to Execute (SmoSPListItem) - Microsoft.SharePoint.Client.ServerException: Cannot complete this action. Check User in a SP2013 Group

Hi All,We have a requirement to check if a user belongs to a particular group in SharePoint and display/hide certain controls on a smartform. We found an OOTB smartobject 'SharePoint Integration Helper Methods' having method 'Is User in Any One Group' but not sure how to check the return value from this method.Any suggestions are highly appreciated. TIA,Kamal

Best and safest way to migrate "DATA" from one K2 Server to another?

Hi all, Ok, here's my scenario. I've got a Form with associated (smartbox) smartobjects on our current v4.6.11 server. I've used package and deployment to migrate the form +data across to my new v4.7 server and got it up and running. Now i've made some changes to the form on the v4.7 server (not changing any smartobject stuff), so I want to now copy over any new DATA from the v4.6.11 server so that the data is uptodate on the v4.7 server. So i've created another package on the v4.6.11 server which includes just the smartobjecta and data. I then went to deploy the data to the v4.7 server, but it says the Smartobjects already exist and to CREATE new Smartobjects.... Do i pick CREATE or UPDATE existing? Which is the safest method, as well as the Smartobjects, it asks me if I want to CREATE or UPDATE the Data as well? Which methosd will give me the newest data set without break any of the Form / Smartobjects associations....
