Is it possible to create the same operation on a form or view to redirect massively many instances to a participant?.

Hi, At the moment i had Anonymous Access and Forms Authentication set on the Designer site, however i discovered that any domain User can open Designer and edit the forms...... What is the best way to lock down Designer so that only Local Server Administrators Group or an Active Directory can access Designer? I tried adding Local Admins under IIS to the Authorization Rules part and took out "allow all users", but that won't even let the local Admin load Designer - i just get the 401 error Unauthorised access.... Any ideas?

We have a slight different requirement, which is to show tasks from all users, using the worklist webpart. I realise that the very definition of the control is to show "work items for the current user" but I have to wonder if there is any way at all to make it query all tasks, as to avoid creating a custom control. Additionally - although not a must-have - we would like to be able to see tasks that have already been finished or expired as well. 

I have a request form to which can be added one or more items. There is an "Add New" button on the form that opens a subview to capture all the details on the requested item. When all the details have been entered, the item is saved back to the main form where there is a list view that shows all the items that have been requested. A "Transfer Data" rule is used to move the data from the subview to the Add/Edit row of the list view. All works as expected with one exception: the subview has several checkboxes that wil not transfer over if True. I have tried direct transfer (subview control to list view control) and I have tried using expressions (If subview control = True, set list view control =True). Nothing works and I am getting frustrated. One of these checkboxes indicates whether or not the request is "Urgent" so it is very important that I resolve this issue quickly. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. AZ

After k2 upgrade from 4.6.11 to 4.7, im getting the below error while deploying the app., there is no firewall between the k2 and sharepoint servers as it is disabled and no blocking od any port because both the servers are on the same subnet. Any idea how can i troubleshoot and fix this issue. in the k2 4.7 article it says no need of 6332 port for the version above 4.6.11. but unfortunately it still require.  Any immediate help is highly appreciated. 

I was curious if anyone had any thoughts about renaming file attachments with SmartForms?  I was thinking of the scenario where uploading to a SharePoint library can sometimes generate a "file already exists" error if the same name is chosen as one that is already there, and would like to avoid that.  Also, sometimes it makes sense to rename a file a user may upload as "untitled" to something more meaningful to the process.  Does anyone have any suggestions how we could do this using the OOB tooling in SmartForms?

How do you change the workflow deployment location?  We are developing in K2 for Visual Studio, and had our projects in a project structure that was not working for us.  For example, the project name was formatted CompanyName.Department and the workflow was under the root folder of that project.  We recently completed a large scale change to how our projects are structured, such that they're now simply names as the ProjectName, and the Workflows are under a Workflows folder instead of root.  The issue is when we deploy, instead of creating a new version of the existing workflow, it creates an all new workflow in an all new location based on the project structure.  The old workflow would deploy under CompanyName.ProjectName, and now it's deploying under ProjectNameWorkflows.  This isn't acceptable, as this means we either have to alter all our forms and reporting, or revert back to our old project structure.     When we change the location of a SmartObject in our project, it finds the e

Hi, I'm still relatively new to K2 and I'm stuck on a problem. I want to run a text expression to update a value once a control has been changed. The user selects a member of staff from a people picker, this will then return the full account name, i.e. domainusername. I need to be able to replace the domain so that I am only left with username. I can use the expression value of a hidden textbox control, this works when the page loads however when my people picker change event fires, the textbox value should be set with said expression but it doesn't work and the textbox is blank.If I remove the expression, the textbox value is domainusername. There must be a way of achieving this? I need to do it at the form level rather than in a workflow, etc. Can somebody please advise? Thanks

When deploying a package, am getting error saying "Conflict with view" with a List View... any ideas why? There was no errors when i packaged it up.

Hi, I have to look up a sharepoint group . The group name to be searched for is a dynamic string and I am usig usermanagement event to grant permission. But when I use a dynamic string i get the error Server was unable to process request. ---> The User/Group does not appear to be discoverable.]]However when I do a dynamic username it works fine. I am having issue only in group name.  Please help. I am relatively new to K2 blackpearl.

Hi All, The requirement is like this : In a SP site , I have a column called Owner which will have the full name (Ex: Satyajit Panda rather than spanda(short name). In K2 workflow, I have to send an email to the Owner through Send Email activity in K2 for SP designer. How do I get the email from Satyajit Panda ? I used the defualt GetUSerDetails method but it takes short name as input. Appreciate any help. Thanks and Regards,Satya

Hi all, Changed IIS on my Dev box to lockdown Designer, so changed IIS Authorization Rule to an AD Group (there is a bug which wont use AD Group name, so used Group SID which i know works, but thats another story) Later i added a new user to the AD group and I get "K2 smartforms - Not authorised"..... If i wait a couple of hours or a day, the user will be allowed in. My question is, what if i want that user to get access immediately when i've added the new User to this AD group? I tried using the identityccaherefresh tool, which had absolutely no impact.Restarted IIS, K2Server service, still no joy I used the Smartobject tester to ensure the user has appeared in Usersbygroup and Groupusers Smartobjects and they are fine and contain the new users membership. So i was wondering if there was any other way to manually fasttrack the synchronization? 

Hi, I have to change the destination users for one of my running workflow. For examaple "Role A" to "Role B" I have an activity on which Destination Users  is based on data field for example data field name is "TLRole" How can I change the destination users for this activity at runtime ? I updated the table "[K2].[ServerLog].[ProcInstData]" to set my data field (TLRole) = 'RoleB',  table updated successfully. I checked the data field (TLRole) from workspace it is showing me updated value "RoleB" But the task is still assigning to the old value of TLRole which is "RoleA" And when I am reading this data field (TLRole) on the form by "open a worklist item" action it is bringing the old value for TLRole which is "RoleA" data field. Please help me how to change the destination users for running workflow which is based on data field. Thanks in advance.. RegardsShah

In a smart form I am trying to populate a drop down list with a list of outcomes from a workflow activity without any success.  I am trying to do so with the SmartForms client event with K2 studio being the workflow editor.  These are the steps I've done and hopefully someone can tell me if I'm missing something.-----------------1) Create a smart form/view with a drop down:In k2 designer I created a view with a sigle drop down list, then I create a form that uses the smart form 2) Wire the form into a workflow In the workflow designer in k2 studio, I created a smartforms client event and and under the "Actions Display Settings" window, I have dragged the listbox from the view I created to the Selection Control box  the under Use an existing list control to display the actions' section.  The activity has two actions ( Approve and Deny ) so I'm expecting when the Form is loaded, the drop downlist should have two entries for each. I save and deploy the workflow, but when I view the form,

Trying to use an expression in a list view to perform a calculation on a field and add the units so I can display the value in a list view.  I'm using K2 blackpearl 4.6.11. Example SmartObject:Name (Text)AgeInDays (Number) Expression used in the list viewConcatenate ( Round ( AgeInDays / 365, 2 ) ,  years ) The text "years" has a leading space in the expression editor.  However, when I run the form, the space is eliminated.   In the view it looks like this:  24.73years  instead of this:24.73 years Now on an item view, this works just fine.  The space is retained and displays correctly.  But in a list view, the space (though retained in the expressions) seems to get ignored and is not displayed.  I have tried using quotes (e.g. "[space]years") but the space is still stripped out (displays:  24.73"years"). Is there any way to get the space to display when introduced via an expression when on a list view? No, I do not have the luxury of changing the SmartObject to be AgeInYears. Thank you

Hello Team, "User Task" event in browser based K2 designer for SharePoint workflow does 2 things.I do't see any similar event from K2 Studio, I tried. 1. Default Client event2. Form generation client event3. SharePoint workflow integration client event None of them gave an option to configure task form in wizard itself like User task. Is there any equivalent event in K2 Studio for "User Task" in K2 Designer for SharePoint?

Hello, I have a multiple Yes/No fields in a Smart Object and if user selects Yes, I want to assign a specific numeric value to it.  So if user selects Yes, I want to assign a Risk Value of 5.   How should I do this? Rules or Workflow? Also, what is the best way to then later add all of these values together?   Thanks!Shaft

I wonder if any experienced any issues upgrading from 4.6.11 to 4.7  Not really sure if the upgrade is safe or perhaps is better to wait until the bugs have been worked out. Dino.

Greetings, I'm having a weird problem whenever I try to print a user's information stored in Active Directory. I have a simple "Show a Message" rule when a form initializes to check the information that K2 has stored from the AD. To my surprise, not all data is shown on the message. I'm updating a dummy account through the AD interface and through a SmartObject. Both work and whenever i execute the UMUser SmartObject i can see that user's correct info, unfortunately that info is not shown on the message.Did anyone have the same problem?Cheers.

Good Afternoon,  I have one SQL View which returns 2 fields: PTUID, ValueI have a custom SQL Table which has 2 columns: ID (autonumber), PTUID What I need to achieve is a check box list which lists ALL the Values from the View and whereby the checkbox is checked IF there is a corresponding row for that PTUID in the custom SQL Table.  What would be the recommended approach?  Thanks for any pointers/help.  Andrew

Hello,  I have a K2 view with a File attachment bind to a SMO wich write file in DB. I would like to retrieve his filename with extension in a label. The solution that i found is to make XML treatment into DB with SQL  to retrieve fileName.. DO you know a better solution ? Thanks in advance, 

Hi all, Anyone had this before? Trying to migrate a form across from old v4.6.11 server to v4.7. Managed to package it up, but when i go to deploy on destination server its just stuck on "Preparing Package...." for the last 3-4 hours The package is around 245MB and includes the Data for the smartobjects. Any ideas why?
