K2 blackpearl

Hi, Is there any built-in way in K2 to automatically delete records over 6 months old / 1 Year from Smartobjects? If not, would it be perfectly fine to use SSIS to schedule a daily check to delete records from the tables using SQL commands?i.e. Delete from table where the timestamp is < dateadd<year -1, getdate sort of thing? Would this mess up any of the forms or k2 integrity by using SSIS to run some SQL to delete over records from the Smartobject data tables? Also, the other issue i have is deleting PDFs. I use the PDF Converter tool to save forms as PDFs. These PDFs are stored in a Smartobject. How do I only deletethose PDF records which are over 6 months/1 year. The problem here is that the PDF Smartobject does not have a Timestamp field, just a ID and PDF column. Any ideas? Thanks

Hi All, I’m looking for suggestion on one of the threshold point, in one of our scenario we need to insert the data into list(SharePoint online) through Workflow(Smart Object event) once after the Approval process. So is there any way(Out Of Box Functionality) to expose the SharePoint list(SharePoint online) to SMO, without configuring k2 for SharePoint App to the site in k2 Blackpearl 4.7? If yes, could you please give some clue how to configure that? RegardsSri

When installing K2 blackpearl 4.6.11 (4.12060.1731.1) for VS2015 integration client component on Win10 workstation I get:  (with server having 4.6.11 w/consolidated database) "Your database is out of date please update to at least version 4.10080.1390.0." Is there a later installer? 

We have K2 server, Sql Server & SharePoint and these are on-premises. Recently we moved all three server from on-premise to a private cloud. Everything works fine from K2 to Sql server & K2 to SharePoint, email is also working from SharePoint and email is working with K2 Server as well but it is only email used in Mail Event.The email of Default Client Event is not working and following error is found in the error log: 61007 Permanent failure sending message adf: System.Net.Mail.SmtpException: Failure sending mail. ---> System.IO.IOException: Unable to read data from the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host There are many post related to above error and I tried all but couldn't resolved the issue. I tried to change k2 service account config in k2hostserver.exe.config and got the following error : <system self="K2:denalli

It seems that File Attachment control doesn't handle certain characters very well. So far I have found that it doesn't like & and + signs in file names. What are the limitations on file names? Thanks

Hi, I am maintaining an older K2 blackpearl system for a customer. The development environment is a virtual machine running Windows Server 2008R2 Datacenter with K2 blackpearl 4.6.6 and Visual Studio Professional 2012. The  development environment is connected through VPN to the customers Team Foundation Server. The previous developer who handed over the project to me, apparently made some changes, which I do not know the extent of. And this person is not available in the company anymore. On the Visual Studio Team Explorer I have a couple of pending changes in some .sodx files and a .dll file (see attached image). However I am not able to see, which changes were made. If I rightclick and choose "Compare with Latest Version", I just see a lot of unreadable XML code (.sodx). This doesn't tell me anything useful. So my question is. Are there a way of finding out, which changes were made to these files? Thanks in advance.

We all know sometimes for support there is a popup Chat where support and customers can interact via JS Chat. I was wondering if this will be possible in K2 and turns out to be a lot easier than you can imagine. Using only: 1 Button + 1 Rule + 1 Param2 Controls [ Text Area / Text Field  ]3 Expressions   Works great and does what I wanted to acomplish. However Maybe is not the most scalable solution, neither a replacement for a real Chat application. The Memory of the variable increases on every mesg sent. [ I have not find a way to append with CSS and prevent to much data going back & fwd trough the wire ]Does not have emoticons or color text.Does not have channels or a way to put bot /api to have source from other places.Does not have the ability to maintain sessions or login/join more people to the conversation and see the history. It was a nice experiment and works fine. just wanted to share here with the community !!!. happy k2 Hacking !!!. 

Hello everyone, I have insalled Titillium Web into windows/fonts on the server hosting k2 Smartforms. I have also created a custom font loader for use with the styles tab for each control in visual studio and ran that against the sever. I have tested the font by opeining wordPad and verfied I can select Titllium Web and type with render showing correct font style. I have created a custom them a swapped the Font selctor in THeme.css for the newly loaded font. If try to use the font from within the control styles, the font revert to times new roman and if I try to apply my new custom theme it just renders as arial. Can anyone tell what I am missing here? Seems if the font loads via a windows session into word pad then there is no issue wihtt he installed font, just K2's ability to access it? Checking permissions now....

I have a dropdown list in my form that is populated from a Smart Object (SP list) and filtered on a parent control. I only want to show unique values as it is currently returning duplicates.Is there an easy way to do this in SmartForms?

Hi Guys, I need to be able to find out who actiioned  a client event in a preceeding activity in k2studio. Is this possible? I want to produce logs that contain more user friendly information so after many hours I've found that I can get most of what I need when placing a smartobject event at the start of each activity that writes to my custom log table in SQL.   Example: I need to say x user was allocated by y user but I can't seem to mix the 2, x user is represented by the Activity detstination Instance participant name, simple enough when in the same activity, however, getting the Actioned By is elluding me.  I;ve tried using a data event and attempted to store value in a date and retrieve it form the next activity but this just crashed the workflow. I've never been down this road before so forgive me if missing something obvious. Hello All, Our requirement is to create a people picker column (took Auto-Complete control for this). We created a Document set content type in Sharepoint. In that content type we added a lookup column, person or group type.We created our application through K2 for Blackpearl app. All the columns’ value are saving in sharepoint library through update document set method other than lookup column (person or group type). Did anyone had a same issue with document set and lookup column? I am looking for a solution for this issue. I appreciate any help in resolving this issue. Thank you,Mohini 

I have a scenario. Task are generated and a notification email is sent to IT Support (Role). The 1st person in IT who click the worklist link in the email will open the task. Well.. he/she thinks that that is not related to him/her. She closes the window. Now that worklist task is not available to others. That 1st IT personnel have to go and release task. Is there a way we can get rid of this process so that everybody can see worklist task until the task is completed.Please Help!!

Hi all, Wondering if you can help with this. Previously, we have had Authorisers in departments, but increasingly we are getting Authorisers moving department, but the users are still in the original department. So when an Authorisation is rrquired, i've always used a Smartobject method to lookup the USERS Active Directory Department field and then filter all records in an AD Authorisers group to send the request to Authorisation in the same DEPARTMENT. But now the scenario is changing, is it possible to make an Authorisers approve requests for two departments? So for example: User is in Department A, but Authoriser can approve Departments A and B. Is it possible to add something in the Workflow Rule / Lookup that says if the User is from Department A, then send the request to all Authorisers in Departments A & B rather than just A??? There will still be situations where a User is in Department C and there are only Authorisers in there for Department D Thanks

I have a requirement to create approval tasks for list of approvers (e.g 10 parallel approvers), but when anyone rejects, it should add a task for originator for rework without affecting other approvers tasks, then when the originator completes the rework task, a nother task would be created again for the specific approver who previously rejected, and loops till all the 10 approvers accept, is there a way to achieve that using K2 studio, with no code? Thanks

I wonder if would be possible to take a K2 Pacakged application and deploy in a clustered Azure Cloud.... Lets think for a second... have K2 BlackPearl hosted in the Azure Cloud.... connecting to a SQL Database backend... How can this applications be converted to be published as Tenant or App in a scalable clustered azure cloud...  ??? Any ideas... this will be really awesome, because with this in place will be farily easy to extent to a mobile apps and have mobile apps developed scaling very very fast.... Perpahs exporting to a Docker container to run directly in a scalable way from the cloud will be really awesome !!!. Dinooz.

So according tot he Support Matrix. https://help.k2.com/blackpearl/support-matrix K2 Blackpearl for 4.6.11 will no longer be supported after September 2017. I also learn there is a chance to upgrade SQL from 2014 to 2016.  Question is ... can I create a New Environment for DEV in 4.7 and perform a Package & Deployment from 4.6. 11 ??? Is it preferable to run the upgrade directly from 4.6.11 to 4.7 and deal with the issues ??? I know we have to move forward, however I really don't like the idea to have to Rebuild all the K2 Apps... just because 4.7... so the main question is... To Upgrade, or not to upgrade....

I upgraded our dev environment to 4.7 (ratest cumulative update) wfor no other reason than I was hoping that I could *finally* work with the K2 workspace in a modern browser (as opposed to legacy mode IE). I see that has not yet happened, but I'm reading about a "New K2 Management Site" with similar functionality that is replacing the workspace. Questions: 1. Is that true?2. Is the new management site automatically installed ont he k2 server side-by-side with the old workspace?3. If so, what's the path for the new Management site?  Thanks,Chris 

HiI have an activity with smartforms client event.It has actions and corresponding to it I have created outcomes.The issue is that there is one action which doesnot finish it but it does just an update.I have a requirement when user selects that actions I need to snd a email and keep the task open.I just wanted to understand how can I achive that scenarioOne way is that I can create new activity with mail event and goback to his step again but then the existing task will be closed and a new task will be created for user which i don't want.Is there any other way to achieve this?

Hello, Has anyone ever faced any performance issue when expressions are used in List View ? Think of this scenario. I have a list view that has 5 columns and the last column value is the difference between 3rd and 4th column. i tried doing this by using expressions. But this made the load time of the list view increase considerably. The woraround , I did, for this was to do the math (difference) in the SPROC that drives the list view and load time reduced by at least 40% when compared to the first case. Appreciate a response on this. Thanks and Regards,Satya
