Hello everyone!I am writing today about a use case that has come up a few times recently and how Nintex can help solve it.At a high level, the use case involves a pricing estimation calculator and the front end, resulting in a proposal or estimate document created and sent to a customer. The specific scenarios I've been working with have involved field service workers; however, this is not limited to that audience.Without Nintex, this would involve a lot of pen and paper, quick napkin math, and complex Excel sheets. Alternatively, the companies I've been working with involve their estimation experts, and their turnaround time is much longer than their customers are willing to wait. With Nintex Automation Cloud, any field service worker can fill out some simple fields and get a quick estimate from the customer while they are still on site.As I mentioned, the ideas presented here can also be applied in other types of use cases. A Common use case for an automated process containing a document being generated is needing a proofreading step where a user can verify the dynamic data going into the document before delivery. Pause to Edit and Forms are just two great examples & features to accomplish this. Let's talk about using forms first. I typically always bring up this path first on any discussion I have. The Reason? Most of the time this ‘proofreading’ step doesn’t need to give the user access to the entire document. Typically they are just checking the dynamic text coming in or maybe just changing a single paragraph. In this case a form is much faster for the end user.  A user can simply check the data here and make any adjustments instead of downloading the entire document. The other plus here is that you can map the data back to a system of record because all the values in the form can be variables. This way of thinking is also great when you incorporate NintexSign into the use case. A common question with K2’s integration with SharePoint is how can we reduce the scope of permissions? By default, the permissions required in SharePoint allow K2 workflows and forms to do all the things: create sites, update permissions, create lists/libraries/items, and help you automate your SharePoint administration.While we believe that every site could benefit from K2’s integration, we know that some organizations want to control access to K2 and limit scope. IntroductionIn this blog I am going to show you how to take data submitted from a form in Nintex Workflow Cloud and save it into a table in Excel. Inserting Form Data into an Excel TableWith a recent update in Nintex Workflow Cloud, we now have an out of the box action for Microsoft Excel to Insert Table Data.   Creating the Excel Table to store the data inThe first thing we will need it to create an excel workbook with the table where we want to store the data, we collect in the Nintex form. In this case I just created a simple table called NWCTest and 7 columns for the data we are going to be collecting from the form.  You will want to make sure you have your excel sheet and table created before you begin setup in Nintex Workflow Cloud.  The excel sheet will also have to be stored in Microsoft OneDrive as well, as this is where the workflow action will connect and look for the file.  Creating the form and connection in Nintex Workflow CloudNow we need to create our form and workflow,

Earlier this month, Google started tracking a new issue in which source URLs for files in Google Drive aren’t working when they’re embedded, such as in Nintex Forms, emails, and web pages. This issue can impact any Nintex product expected to host an image, and seems to affect many (possibly all) file types. This issue has been acknowledged by Google on their Issue Tracker This conversation in GitHub demonstrates a workaround with a new URL format. However, this workaround ultimately requires the URL to be updated anywhere it’s been used. I’ve written a Knowledge Base article about it here regarding Nintex Automation Cloud.

You may start to see a notice when accessing your K2 for SharePoint integration in a SharePoint Online list or library. Several questions have come in recently from customers asking about plans to remove the dependency on Microsoft’s .NET Framework 3.5 version, which will reach end of life in 2029.We are aware of the upcoming deprecation, and keep a close eye on all of our technology dependencies to ensure we stay on current, supported versions to help our customers remain secure and stable.  We are working to address this dependency, and it’s not a simple upgrade for the K2 server and sites. Where we can, in some of the supporting micro services, we’ve already updated our code to depend on .Net Core versions. I don’t have a firm release date for completely removing our dependency on .NET Framework 3.5, but when past APIs have reached EOL (for example, the Microsoft AAD API to the new Microsoft Graph API), we addressed it in all supported versions with plenty of time for customers to upgrade. Earlier this year, Microsoft announced that SharePoint 2013 workflows will be deprecated in Microsoft Office 365 as of April 2026. As we communicated then, this deprecation affects our Nintex Workflow for Office 365 product, which utilizes the SharePoint 2013 workflow engine.We are now announcing End of Life for our Nintex Workflow for Office 365 product. Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you needed to reset a Nintex Forms Repeating Section? I'm sure you've tried to reset different columns from within your Nintex Workflows and It's actually easy to reset any type of fields like Yes/No, Single Line of Text, etc.. But what about the Repeating Sections? First of all, why would you need to do so?In my case, I had two lists; one for the orders and the other is for the order details. I've created a 1:Many relationship between both lists.  In my case, I wanted to use a Repeating Section only as a way for inputting data into another list (a Nintex Workflow on the parent list is being used here to parse the repeating section and create the child items in the second list.). I wanted this Repeating Section to always be empty and ready for data input. Unfortunately, this was not straightforward due to the fact that the Repeating Section data is always stored as XML either in a list column if the repeating section is connected or in

When you read release notes of any product or app update, you’ll usually see the generic category of “performance enhancements” - More speed. Like Ricky Bobby, “I wanna go fast,” right? But that phrase has gotten a bad reputation as just buzzwords. For a while now, you’ve heard from me about some tech debt projects that are updating some pretty core frameworks that are used in the Nintex K2 designers. This is a short workaround i've put together on how you can use a component workflow within Office 365 to capture workflow information and append it to a history list on the item that your workflow is running on. Check out the video below on how it works:   How to use this: 1. Download the component workflow i've built2. Create a column called "Workflow History" on the document or list you'd like to log3. Import the workflow as a site workflow4. Update it to connect to your list and update the "Workflow History" column you created.5. Sometimes we remember about inline functions and runtime and use them on different parts of the design of our Nintex Forms, but we don't get the expected result by us, and sometimes it's simply because we haven't considered when they are executed. The difference is that Inline functions are run when the form is loaded., although the Runtime Functions will run while you have the form open, changing a control 's value, so filling a text field will cause the Runtime function to evaluate again. This is a simple reminder for me and you.
