We're excited to be answering some of the most frequently asked RPA questions across the web! Check out what these RPA specialists had to say about making a splash in the RPA industry with a C# background: 1) "The shorter answer: 'yes'! The longer answer: Expanding your skills is something that we should always be doing. The more you can get into the habit of perpetually learning, the more you’ll survive and thrive in the exciting (and scary) years ahead. What is more important than having C# programming skills is the mindset and mentality that you have. That fits very well with any RPA platform. In reality, you’re not going to be doing too much programming - which is why we've had career changers like audit managers and tax consultants join our organization as RPA developers. However, knowing how to program is going to make you stand out and be confident that you can tackle any project. Most importantly - if you are looking for entry-level RPA jobs when you have zero hands-on RPA e
SharePoint web services can be used to manage content, as well as site settings and some configuration. You can read more about the SharePoint REST service here. Nintex Workflow Cloud provides many out of the box actions for provisioning of objects in SharePoint Online; however sometimes we might want to apply further settings to newly provisioned sites and site collections than those actions allow. Enter the new Call a SharePoint web service action! In this example we'll see how site provisioning form has been created in NWC, with options to allow the requester to specify particular commonly used features they would like to have activated on their new site. Our simple form below offers the requester the ability to switch on the following features in the new site collection: Document Sets Document ID Service Open Documents in Client Application by Default (instead of the web app option) Here's the form: Our workflow has a simple approval step - if approved it will go on to create a

Hello RPA Community, It’s been about two weeks since we released Nintex Bot 17.4.1. Thanks again for your patience while we worked through the issues with 17.4.0. Like I mentioned in my previous posts, we introduced changes that were meant to increase the reliability and stability of Bot and its communication with RPA Central over the course of the last few releases, starting with 17.2.0, and had completed those changes with 17.4.0. We also introduced support for Shadow DOM in that release. However, we found that some new issues cropped up with some of your botflows and some old issues came back after our releases. To make sure 17.4.1 had what we had intended for in 17.4.0, we redoubled our efforts to make the communications across the RPA platform even more robust and reliable. DetailsIn 17.2.0, we made changes in Bot to make sure our communication with RPA Central was as solid as possible. This was causing some status mismatches and jobs not being assigned properly. In the same releas
IntroductionThere will be certain circumstances where one would start an NWC process, have some records written to a third-party system and then pause processing of the NWC process while waiting for the external system to process these records. Once these records have been processed, NWC should then continue the process as these processed records can then be used by the process. For example, if we have received some shipping containers, the contents will need to be inspected and the results entered into a separate system that cannot be called directly from NWC. There is a batch job that runs once every 30 minutes, which will process these items and mark them as inspected and received. Once that is completed, we need to tell the NWC process to continue down the payment process. As a side note, this particular example could be a good fit for RPA, which can be initiated from NWC as well. The SolutionA simple way to implement this is to use a task assigned to a system account. At the end of

IntroductionWith Salesforce making the transition from classic to lightning, I wanted create this blog post to demonstrate how Nintex RPA can work within Salesforce lightning and can easily create new accounts using data from an excel spreadsheet. Walking through the BotflowThe Botflow I am walking through in this blog is available to download from our Nintex Gallery at this link. Place the folder with the spreadsheet on the desktop and you will need to update the credentials variable for Salesforce, and the variable for the Salesforce URL to point to your Salesforce tenant. Let’s say you have a spreadsheet full of new account data, maybe from attending a conference or migrating to Salesforce from another line of business system. Instead of having an employee enter 100’s or 1000’s of lines of data into Salesforce lets show you how we can accomplish this with Nintex RPA. The spreadsheet we are working with for the demo has a small subset of data that we will be using to create the a
We are happy to announce that in the last quarter, we released new on-demand training for Nintex Workflow Cloud. This is a popular product and to cater to our ever-growing customers’ need, we have created and released a brand-new series of courses that covers all the foundational concepts for this platform. Wondering what’s new? Why should I take this training? How will it benefit me? We have answers to these commonly asked questions. See below: What’s New:The on-demand training is divided into 4 recommended courses: Each of these courses is carefully designed keeping in mind the concepts, and topics, along with hands-on experiences to practice those skills. The courses are designed to make it engaging through interactions, media elements, and simulations, along with providing some additional handouts for quick reference. To even make it accessible, the training has voice overs that will make your learning experience richer. Do not forget the end of course feedback, to share any sugges
#RPA #CustomerSatisfaction #CustomerService #RPAUseCase #Robotics #ProcessDiscovery #ProcessAutomation Call centers are on the frontlines of customer service and can also make or break a customer's experience with a company. How can RPA help to maximize sales and customer satisfaction through fast, reliable, and personal service? By: A) Getting your customer service reps up-to-speed With the right RPA solution, it's easy to make your customer service reps have the training they need to thrive with a minimal investment in time and resources. The way it works is simple: robots efficiently guide your new hires through the procedures they need to know via on-screen balloon tips. This can work for directing employees in what they should say, things they should keep in mind, and processes they should utilize for fast, personal, and reliable service. Kryon’s attended automation can do exactly that. B) Improving customer satisfaction By automating many of the repetitive tasks that can consu

Especially in the domain of contact centers, today's consumers demand quality service. Here are a few examples of what we mean and how RPA can help: -88% of customers won't wait more than 5 minutes for service-72% expect customer service reps to already know what they have purchased-67% admit to having higher standards for customer experience than ever before. So what can RPA do to help ensure a better customer experience while saving businesses the time and stress involved? It can empower contact centers to offer superior service, boost sales, and minimize costs - often at the same time. Here's a recent example of just how much time can be saved: -60% of customer service reps shared that their company doesn't always give employees the technology needed to address customer service challenges. Recently, a contact center for a subsidiary of a large insurance company began using Kryon Unattended automation. As a result, one of its newly automated processes saved its team an estimate
Objective of this project is to ask vendors and partners fill out a form with their company details. This information needs to be saved in SharePoint for internal team to look over and process further. The supplementary documents uploaded with this form also needs to be available internally. The attachment control in NWC form uploads all the files to Default file storage. The available locations for default storage is Dropbox for Business, Box, Citrix ShareFile, Google Drive and MS OneDrive for Business. Files cannot be saved directly into SharePoint (as of now). For this example, I am utilizing MS OneDrive for business to store the files. Here is what my workflow looks like:The first step in the workflow is to create the item in the SharePoint list using the information submitting in the form. Then comes other steps.I'm counting the number of attachment to check if the count is more than 1. This mean the workflow will execute the loop only if there is an attachment. You do not have to

Today we released both RPA Central 2.4 and Nintex Bot 17.4 that includes Role-Based Access Control (RBAC). This is a big milestone for RPA to bring a new level of management to botflows. Thanks to all of the people involved in getting this feature built, tested, and released! If you were helping us test the beta, you can upgrade to these new builds. Summary of the RBAC FeatureNew in this release is an additional role – Participant. Those in this role are able to run botflows and view instance data. This means there are three roles in RPA - Administrator, Designer, and Participant. Nintex RPA is also introducing a new concept of Botflow Permissions. What you can do in RPA is based on your role and botflow permissions. So, for example, if you are a Designer in RPA but don't have permissions to a particular botflow, you will not see that botflow in the list of botflows that you can open and edit. If you're a Participant, you can only run botflows that 1) are Published, 2) are designed to
When you want to do a complicated calculation and get it into a document... and into a customers hands do you want to keep the end result? IntroductionThere are certain scenarios where a running process will need to wait for input or a trigger from an external system or process. One can always create a polling mechanism in the process, but that adds unnecessary overhead and is not a real-time trigger; if the external call comes back a second after the polling mechanism checked for updates, the process will need to wait another full cycle before processing is initiated. Example scenarios include waiting for an external system to complete batched or nightly jobs, long running transactions potentially involving multiple line of business systems or even something simple as a human completing a task in an external system. To cater for scenarios like these, the K2 platform has the concept of an asynchronous event, where pretty much any SmartObject call can be configured to wait for an external call before proceeding to the next step. The advantages of taking this approach are:No overheads when compared to polling. The SmartObje

Nintex K2 Cloud provides customers with a robust platform to build apps in a SaaS offering that doesn’t require the day-to-day management or on-going support of other K2 infrastructure. Many customers needed a way to access their on-premises line-of-business (LOB) data within K2 Cloud. As a result, we initially introduced customers to our K2 Cloud Secure Data Access (SDA) offering. After speaking with many SDA users, we learned that it was not the perfect solution for your day-to-day business needs. As such, we are excited to announce an improvement in this offering — Nintex K2 Cloud On-premises Data Access (OPDA). OPDA is the future of our on-prem data access strategy for K2 Cloud customers that want to build apps in the cloud and interact securely with data that lives on-premises and behind your firewall. This data is made available to your K2 Cloud tenancy using a network appliance that will be deployed within your private network. What this transition means for you…While the outco
