The "Ten Commandments" of Kryon RPA Attended Automation (design/implementation): Always prompt/ask a user before "taking over"; never simply take (away) user control (unless specifically necessary/desired for the automation workflow)! Always take into account (and plan for) potentially different (windows-/colour-) themes, resolutions, languages, multi-monitor setups, etc. and choose & test automation mechanisms accordingly! Tweak attended automation workflows for maximum speed (and minimum user "waiting")! Always display a bubble to the user when the wizard works "behind the scenes" so the user knows that something is (still) happening and the workflow hasn't timed out! Tweak wizards for minimum intrusiveness (towards users)! I.e., if you can run it "in the background" (so the user can continue working), do so accordingly! If something goes wrong: Notify the user via bubble/message box! The user needs to know the outcome of the automation so that they can react accordingly! Avoid -
The out-of-the-box MS Teams connector in NWC provides us with all the basic functionality to integrate our business processes with MS Teams, however, with the release of the MS Graph API, there are some additional features we can integrate with. You can use the MS Teams Extender in the gallery to access some additional actions. Here's a summary of a solution built using the extended features: DemoA Health and Safety Inspection process hosted entirely within MS Teams, powered by NWC. Request a new inspection First inspection team is notified about new inspection, to be claimed via an adaptive card Assign inspectors via an NWC Form Private channel is created for the inspection and all inspectors are added to the channel Using adaptive cards, all stakeholders are kept in the loop during the process The Task Form assigned to the specific inspector is embedded in a Tab in the Inspection Channel to be completed once the inspection is done Once submitted, an inspection certificate i
Successful automation stems from a full-cycle approach. It involves discovering and mapping processes and variants, creating and optimizing wizards, managing robots in production, and analyzing the impact on the organization. It’s a lot to handle, and we’re here to help by sharing the best practices for implementing full-cycle automation, from discovery to orchestration. Join us on May 25th, and hear our Professional Services Team Leader, Ziv Ilan, break down the different stages of Kryon Full-Cycle Automation. He’ll also share: 1) Mapping and analyzing processes to understand their business impact 2) Creating a Process Design Document and supporting process documentation 3) Managing and optimizing automation tasks to gauge the automation impact Don’t miss out! You can decide by checking out this mini-guide below. You know your focus should be on desktop automation when… -The process requires human intervention-The process requires use of data that cannot be predetermined-A human user is what triggers the process-Users need to enter information during the process-Interaction with an online customer is a requirement during the process’s execution-The user needs to enter the same information again and again in several places or systems You know your focus should be on unattended RPA when… -The process is free from human judgement-It’s possible to map the entire process based on predefined inputs-It’s possible for a robot to initiate the process according to a defined event/schedule-The business process is rules-based-The business process is highly repetitive -The process is driven across business units, regions, functions, etc. You can read more about the best practices for robot utilization in our guide here.
We’ll dive into scalability as a barrier to RPA in enterprise organizations. We’ll also offer innovative solutions to insure against business interruptions of the future. When it comes to New Full-Cycle Automation-as-a-Service, your business will be able to stay grounded while offering the unprecedented flexibility of the cloud. Daniel Peled, SVP Channels, will break down: -Why only 13% of enterprise RPA solutions utilize more than 50 robots and how that number can reach 500+ -How automated process discovery eliminates the cost of expensive consultants and delivers a three-year ROI rate of 352% -Solving scalability and TCO issues by moving to the cloud with Full-Cycle Automation as-a-Service, the future of RPA. Nintex RPA enables companies to harness the power of their network of bots to orchestrate processing a large dataset file for faster results and turnaround time. As an example, a file with 10,000 records and 20 columns can take up to 5-7 days to process using a single bot. This can be reduced to 1 day using the Nintex RPA Central Orchestration through simultaneous utilization of multiple bots. In RPA Central v2.1, we have drastically improved the setup and configuration of this capability, to improve time to deploy for Admins. In the new version of RPA Central, users would only set their file definition and variables in the botflow one time, then login to RPA Central and provide the file destination. Once the botflow is running the file definition set at the time of botflow design are used to process the file. Dataset within the new RPA Central can also now process a dynamic file, where the file can grow or shrink in size without any impact to the process. A Botflow with a Datase
Updated DocumentationEver heard that you can build custom actions for Nintex Workflow Cloud, but not known how to get started? Ever been working with an action in the workflow designer and wondered how the Nintex developers built a certain part of the action panel? Well, with the latest updates to the Nintex Xtensions documentation, you can learn all that and more! The Xtensions team has been hard at work taking customer and partner feedback around our documentation and leveraging that to make some key updates that we think will make it easier than ever to build new custom actions using Nintex Xtensions. Developer documentation is always a balancing act between being easy to follow, so new developers can understand the concepts, yet still robust enough that more advanced developers can derive value and keep building cool things. In our latest update, we try to strike this balance with a little bit of new stuff for everyone. Let's break down what's new. New TutorialsWhen you are learnin

Recently, I have had the privilege of working with several local government Promapp clients as they labor to establish process management as a discipline within their agencies. One of the most important pieces to a successful process management program is a clear and effective process framework. Many organizations choose to create a custom framework, while other opt to leverage existing frameworks made available for public use through various consortiums. The American Productivity & Quality Center (APQC) has developed and published many free process frameworks for download. Among these is the APQC Process Classification Framework (PCF) for City Government (available for PDF download HERE). To help these clients in their framework development, I have built the APQC PCF for City Government in Promapp and made the template available for download on our Solution Accelerator Gallery. If you are working in a governmental agency and looking for a solid process framework, I suggest you giv
An increasingly common request on the Nintex Workflow Cloud platform is to save a form without submitting, so the form can be picked up and completed at a later time. Users want to be able to partially enter information, maybe grab a coffee or a pint and finish entering the data at their leisure. In this post, I'll walk through a workaround using variables and Nintex Task Forms that will achieve this functionality, allowing your end users to complete a form piecemeal as they see fit. This solution will be for Nintex Workflow cloud and the workflow is available in the Nintex Process Gallery If you would like to watch a walkthrough, and see this in practice, please see the video below: The basic components for this workflow / form will be as follows:A start form Variables for each field in the start form Set Variable actions for each variable (using start form data) A Loop A task with a form that mimics the start form Set Variable actions for each variable (using task form data) Jump

As a systems integrator in the Microsoft SharePoint space I often get asked comparative analysis questions on forms and workflow products. Due to the announced end of life of InfoPath, one of the more common comparisons I see is on Nintex Workflow and Forms compared to PowerApps and Flow. Since I’ve had a number of meetings on this topic with multiple clients, as well as discussions with folks at Nintex, I thought I’d share what I’ve learned. Why Compare These ProductsIt may seem obvious but I always find it important to be very clear about our argument for comparison. The primary reason I hear from client is:“We got InfoPath for free and now we’re going to get PowerApps and Flow free with our E3 licenses, why would we pay for Nintex?”No surprises here, cost is the primary driver. My comparison below will cover a lot of feature differences as to why you would pay for Nintex, and what you get for that extra cost. Some of the elements, like ease of use and learning curve are touched on a
