Thank you for participating in the Skuid Chicago Early Access release - here's an updated version of the post that went out with the Boston release in 2020. Here are a few resources and guidelines to help you as you get into the release, which has now been pushed to most participants’ orgs. If you do the following when testing, it will greatly help us in preparing for GA. Build in V2. We’ve continued to add more features and bug fixes to V2, and it’s better than ever. Let us know what’s good, what’s missing, what you’d like to see improved. Test in Lightning. Sometimes there are issues that only show up once you’ve put a Skuid page in a Lightning page and viewed it in the Lightning Experience. We want Skuid in Lightning to be stable and performant. Build on standard objects/fields wherever possible - this makes it a lot easier to copy, paste and repro when we do bug fixes. If you can, start by testing the two biggest features of this release: the migration process and the new calendar

Very often if not almost always do I work in pages that are child pages of a master. Storing resources like models, action sequences and javascript is really handy to have in the master so they are re-usable across all child pages. However, it’s hard to visually tell which resources belong to the master and which to the child when working in the page composer. It would be nice if they were organized into collapsible accordion items (similar to how components are organized into accordion items such as layout, data, visualizations, etc.) for either Master Page or Child Page. By default, the Master Page accordion item would be collapsed and the Child Page accordion item would be open, since the majority of the time when working on a page, the developer is actively working with the child page resources.

Hello Everyone! I have some important announcements only for users who are using Salesforce as their primary data source for Skuid. Salesforce is enforcing Guest User security policies starting in Spring '21 WITHOUT the ability to opt-out. What does that mean? For those who have pages with objects that rely on view all, modify all, edit, and delete object permissions in their Skuid project(s), soon you can only allow guests to have read and create objects permissions. Hello everyone! I hope everyone is having a great start to the year. Most of you don’t know me, so I wanted to introduce myself here. My name is Jeremy Beal, and I’m the new developer advocate at Skuid! I will be your point of contact for questions, comments, concerns, and feedback. I will also be working on refining and improving the ecosystem so everyone can officially call this corner of the ocean their home (lol, get it?). Here’s a little background on myself: I’ve been a developer advocate for 2+ years in the blockchain/crypto space where I help build, maintain, and engage with people in the community. I’m a developer with coding experience in Python, Java, iOS (swift), and Javascript and have built a variety of apps, including ones that help users do QA on their existing projects to help debug any issues they may have. Hey everyone! I think in-app guidance, like product tours and instructional popups, can be a really valuable way to connect with your users, and I recently had the chance dabble in using a library named Shepherd. Since it’s MIT-licensed, I realized it could be a great fit for a Skuid page tour. So I wrote up a Skuid Labs report on how to do just that. I cover things from the conceptual, like what to write about, to the implementation. Be warned, this is pretty JavaScript heavy, but it could be a solution if you’re looking to try this yourself. IMHO, V2 should have more responsive design settings.

The Child variants in the DSS are really handy. In the page composer these get scattered in with other variants based on however the overall style variant picklist is ordered. It would be helpful to have these ordered beneath their parent to keep the similar variants together.

It would be really handy in V2 to have style variant logic available for cards within a deck that derive from the context of the record tied to the card.

The Skuid Boston GA release is live! This release has many features that have been requested by members here on the community, from HTML and actions on template fields to conditional field formatting to customization of the “donut hole” in the donut chart. For release notes, install links, and a great highlight video showing some of the new features, visit the Boston release landing page here. As previously discussed in this community post, Salesforce is modifying what guest users are able to do using out of the box Salesforce in order to secure communities and force.com sites Please note that per this documentation , changes with guest user access will be auto activated In Winter '21 WITH the ability to opt out (hits preview sandboxes Sept 11 and prod orgs Sept 18 - Oct 18) In Spring '21 WITHOUT the ability to opt out (hits preview sandboxes Jan 8, 2021 and prod orgs Jan 15 - Feb 14) Skuid highly recommends that you thoroughly test all mission critical guest user functionality with the guest user changes activated in a non-business critical sandbox PRIOR to the Winter '21 Salesforce release hitting your orgs so you can opt out as needed to allow you time to prepare for Spring '21 when you can no longer opt out. Please note that if you are using Skuid’s file upload for guest users prior to 11.2.30 or 12.2.14, please make sure you refer to the instructions from this previous

The loading spinner is defined by the static resource SkuidLoadingPlaceholder, which cannot be changed since it is part of the managed package. It would be great to be able to customise this item.

By default model conditions are all put together with AND when nothing is added to Grouping Logic. I’m surprised no one has thought of this until not, but it would better to have the same UX as Conditional Rendering Logic. This would be better as there are times when any condition is met is needed.

On long pages it would be nice to collapse components not being worked on.

When we look at the drop-down on interactions for a list, the options of “swipe” and “press” are missing. They were ther at one time?

Salesforce will be automatically activating Stabilize the Hostname for My Domain URLs in Sandboxes which removes the Salesforce instance name from the URL. Who May Be Affected By This: Any instance (production or sandbox) where the instance name is visible in the URL (e.g. MyDomain–SandboxName.cs5.my.salesforce.com). When Will My Org be Affected? Sandboxes and production orgs on Summer ‘20: July 11, 2020 Newly created or refreshed sandboxes: when created or refreshed Production orgs not yet upgraded to Summer ‘20 when the Summer ‘20 upgrade occurs What do I need to do? Update hard coded references as explained in this Salesforce documentation. Specifically within Skuid, check pages with “Redirect to URL” actions or any embedded iframes and make sure links to other locations within your Salesforce Org use relative URLs. If you are using Salesforce as an external data source or in other external sources, you will also need to update those data sources and callback URLs. Please test this

With the exception of Accepted Answers, replies are posted in chronological order and will not indent comments on comments. Click "Quote" under the post/comment/answer you want to respond to and it will bring that post/comment/answer into your response. Previous "categories" now live on as tags and are visible on the right side of the discussions tab. Status of a post: The legacy community showed the status of the post under each post's title. I would like a sliding panel that is a minimum 400px that is approx 30% of the screen width but that is 100% width on mobile as the screens are so small. This is low priority ask as current functionality is very workable, but the ability to define min widths and mobile responsiveness on sliding panels would round out their design domination.Oh, and… while I have your attention… sliding panels on mobile safari sometimes translate swipes to the hidden layers instead of the topmost panel. If you had a mobile responsive option that set the panel to 100% width then maybe you could do it in a way that ensured interactions affect only the top panel. Thanks for all you do!

I envision a component you can drag in that has settings allowing you to choose fields upon which you can identify duplicate records. The user would see a blank form with these fields. They would enter data I any/all of the fields and click “find duplicates”. The result would bring up a table displaying a predefined set of fields showing potential duplicates. The user could then just check the boxes next to the records they want to merge and choose one as the master record for overwriting situations. It would then automatically update every field in the records across the entire object(s) involved without having to choose which records to bring into the model. It would have to extend to migrating all child and related records too. This is, I suppose, something that could be built from scratch each time, but if there are a lot of relationships and or a lot of fields, it could be extremely time consuming. Seems like the Skuid-zards (Skuid Wizards) could cook something up to make this pro
