Nintex Workflow

I’m using Nintex Workflow Automation Cloud and I was surprised that workflows continue to run on deleted list items from Sharepoint Online. Even approvers are still getting assigned tasks. Of course when they click the link to go to the completed form, they get a “no item exists” message. Is this normal? Shouldn’t the workflow stop running if the item it’s running off of has been deleted? It’s a pain to go into the “instances” and try to track down the specific one to terminate and a nuisance to the business users. Any suggestions on a better/easier way to manage this? 

I have a form where the user needs to select the reviewer using a people picker object.  When using this collection as the ‘assignees’ for a task in the workflow, it throws an error: [Task.FailureInitiatingTask] Failed to initiate task I also tried extracting the e-mail from the user collection and this also doesn’t work.This seems like it should work natively since it is picking from valid NAC users, and it allows you to select the collection for the ‘assignees’ field in tasks.  What am I missing?

I am building a request ticketing system via SharePoint and Nintex, and want a list that only supervisors can see, and I want them to only see requests sent to them specifically. I am using a Nintex form that populates a requests list I created in SharePoint.My original idea was just to use the same list, on 2 different pages. The problem is that even if I create a specific view, if I default it to a view, it defaults it to both. I want one view to be a regular requests list that everyone can see the requests they’ve submitted, and another be a supervisor only list.The next idea was to create 2 different lists, but have the same data in them. I have been playing around with this, but since I have my start event as a new list item creation, I cannot find an easy way to populate a different list with one list already.

Hello,I am trying to grab info from a column in an external list while using Nintex Automation Cloud Workflow. I currently have my workflow setup in Nintex for O365 but need to move it to the NAC… I am trying to mimic the following below but can only get the field’s name/ID and not sure why it won’t return what I have actually sitting in the column. This is a people/group field…Nintex for O365 workflow setup:SharePoint External list: When I am in NAC workflow, I get the following options below (query a list)…ID only. Why am I not able to get the group that I have listed for that item and that you see on the screen shot above for the external list? workflow layout:

When I attempt to connect to one of our SharePoint online sites, and retrieve lists, I get an error in the dropdown of “forbidden.”This method works on all our other sites, and I have full control of the site in question.  Any help on getting this corrected?  

I need to be able to run the worklfow ONLY if manager field has changed.Currently it runs always when item is modiefied because I no longer see option for conditional start on modiefied with ability to compare previous and current value when building Nintex workflow in Nintex Automation Cloud.  Anyone have tips on how to acomplish this?

Hello,I am trying to pull all members from a specific AD Group and send a email to all those members but that specific group and other groups are not showing in the drop down as a option.  Is there a specific permission needed when setting up the connection to make sure I am able to see 100% all AD groups or specific setting within each AD group?Thnx

I started a form plugin C# / Lit project using the Nintex Form Plugin Starter project available at https://github.com/NTX-XT/ntx-form-plugin-starterand it has this line,export class PageHighlight extends LitElement {    static getMetaConfig = (): Promise<PluginContract> | PluginContract => config; and I used it to build a web component that allows a user to select a date from the calendar. I now want to store the selected date for use in the form or workflow, so I am trying to follow the example code at https://help.nintex.com/en-US/formplugins/Examples/CreatePlugin_MaterialTextField.htmwhich tells me to insert this line,static getMetaConfig(): Promise<NintexPlugin> | NintexPluginAs you can see, it uses Promise<NintexPlugin> instead of Promise<PluginContract>.So which one do I use, and what is the difference between them?Where is the documentation on how to use getMetaConfig?  

Hello, I’ve been trying for several weeks to grab the option that is selected in a NAC task form… When a option is selected like below, how do you obtain the option once its been selected? I am trying to put it into a variable to use in my workflow but cannot for the life of me find how to grab it.Help! 

I have added multiple Text - Short controls to a form.  Can the font style and size for a single Text - Short control be changed within the form?

Error handling Error handling can now be enabled for workflows. When a workflow encounters a recoverable error, the instance will pause, allowing users to investigate, remediate, and resume the instance from the point of failure. The failing action can be rerun. For more information, see the Error handling help topic.Can someone elaborate on which actions are available for the new “Resolve instance” feature? I attempted to test this and it’s not working for assign a task to multiple users or the branch by value actions. Should it be working with these two actions?‘Note: It would be helpful if a list of recoverable errors associated to which actions (for now) is listed in the help documentation. I would think the above actions would be acceptable for error handling considering, we could update the workflow and just click “resume”. Change error handling settings (nintex.com)

Hello,I am using an approval task in nintex automation cloud to assign to users to approve forms. When a user submits a form the workflow fires off and uses a branch by stage. It:1.) Goes to Manager to approve and the manager can either select      Approve, Changes needed or RejectIf Changes needed is selected, it will push out a notification to the person who filled out the form to make their changes and then they click a toggle button stating they made their changes and click submit. The task form then circles back around to the manager to see if they made the correction but the corrections don’t update on the task form… only in the original form does the change show.How do you get the fields in the task form to update jus like the form?     

Hello,I need to Post to an API URL sending my username and password to get a bearer token returned. I’m struggling with the syntax needed to send form data plus these 2 inputs. I’ve used Postman to test my credentials and the URL. I get a 200 status code and the token is returned. However, I haven’t been able to get it to work within Nintex itself.Can someone please tell me what belongs in the Request headers and Request content boxes to make this work?Kind regards,Jenny 

I saw this new form plugin in the Nintex Gallery -  https://gallery.nintex.com/t/js-insert and I was able to get the example Javascript code to work (Character Counter, expand on focus, change color on hover).  I learned how to identify the Nintex control that I want to modify and some events (like  keyup and hover) that can trigger the modification.  But now I want to expand that for use in other parts. I could really use a Javascript “cheat sheet” that explains all the different trigger events I can use in these functions and all the ways to attach it to an element on the form. Example- I want to make dynamic dropdowns (aka cascading / dependent dropdowns) that populate based on other data selections on the form.  I first tried using the Nintex “Choice” controls but I don’t know how to manipulate those with Javascript. I next tried adding an HTML “select” tag in a Label control.  It displays the dropdown but I have not been able to modify it.  Here is what I have so far.  Let me know

Hello everyone , i have one requirement where in i have a dropdown with 4 values and each value will define a rule to show particluar field and hide based on drop down value selected , so the requirement is when the user changes the dropdown value all other fields data show be empty and we should get an alert to get confirmation that do you still want to change the value. kindly do help in providing the solution .Platform : Nintex Automation Cloud form

Question on datetime columns in Nintex Data Tables and timezones.I can’t see any reference or configuration for timezone in either the table / column settings or in the documentation.I’ll have forms that are AEST (Sydney) timezone. Do I need to do any timezone conversion when evaluating or storing the values?As a use case I have a table ‘FormOpenClose’which has columns for name, open (DateTime) and close (DateTime).The idea being when the form loads it gather these values for a single row from the table and a form rule would control if the groups on form are visible and if the submit button works.The tenant workflow regional settings are configured for Australia / Sydney as my timezone. So a question of what timezone is used to store the datetimes in the table and what happens when we retrieve the values? (@Chris_Ben thought I’d tag you on this post given the Data / Tables blog post you have written and you might have further info)

Hi gurus!We am looking to create a workflow for Purchase Requisitions that will need to go to multiple people for approval - based on value.If one of those approvers rejects the request, we want the workflow to back to the originator so they can rework and then resubmit the request.I have seen previous questions relating to this, but they are several years old and links to documents are no longer valid.I also see references to State Machines, but have no idea how to do this in NAC! Thanks

Hello,I am working on migrating a 2010 On Prem workflow that is using the Terminate Workflow - All except current workflow option but it’s not a option in the Nintex Automation environment.  Is there any way to have this same functionality/step in Automation environment?

I need to create a .csv file as the output for some forms and use SFTP (ideally) or FTP to store the .csv in a desired network location.Have other people come across how to store the output as a .csv? if so how?Also, can you save that file or any other within Nintex Automated Cloud using SFTP or FTP?  Cheers!

Hi,Is there a way to export a workflow from NAC so it can be imported into Nintex O365?

How do I add published workflows to the ‘Submit a form’ tab in My Nintex?  At present, when a ‘Participant’ user accesses our tenant, this tab is blank.  Is ‘My Nintex’ only to be used for workflow tracking or can a ‘Participant’ initiate a published workflow from this location?  All ‘Participant’ users are Business Owners for the published workflow. 

How can I allow users to see active tasks, or tasks status in SharePoint Online? as an alternative, is there a license need for user to see tasks on the Tasks section of Nintex Automation Cloud? Thanks.

Hi, I have a process where the approval task is assigned to multiple people. I’ve configured it to where we just need 1 person to fill out the information and make a decision on it. Has anyone come up with a solution where if multiple people have the task open and there is an some kind of assigned to value where they can select themselves. This will then update the form for everyone else to let them know in real time that someone has already taken this task to work on.This is similar to how in Servicenow if a ticket gets assigned to a group, someone from the group updates the assigned to field then it updates in almost real time for everyone else’s view of the ticket without the need to refresh the page. Even if the page can’t get refreshed in real time, has anyone come up with another solution to notify the other users in the work group that item is being worked on by someone?
