What is a Center of Excellence (CoE)? If you ask 10 people to give you a definition of what a Center of Excellence is, chances are you’ll end up with 11 different answers. Before we dive too deep then, the first thing that I’d like to introduce is how we at Nintex define a CoE: Comprised of highly skilled people, a CoE’s mission is to develop and deliver best practices within their area of speciality. To do this, the CoE must develop and maintain a library of reusable standards, methodologies, and artefacts to produce a higher quality of output and boost speed of delivery within the organization. While this is a good starting point, not all CoEs are the same, rather the roles and responsibilities of the CoE will need to be defined by each organization. So, going one level deeper, here are the three approaches that a CoE might take: Under a centralized approach the CoE will execute on behalf of the Line of Business (LoB); this might involve running workshops to understan
If anyone missed yesterday's episode with @bstori make sure you check out the on-demand recording! https://www.nintex.com/resources/0421_WF_Global_Pizza-and-process-SDG_WBR/ Got to review an awesome process with Ben, and I'm really looking forward to the next episode next month!
If you were to ask your staff to produce a list of your organization’s assets, what do you think they would include? Perhaps your product designs, your plant, equipment, inventory, and people. How many people would add your processes to that list? For most organizations, the answer will be very few (if any). The reason for this is because most people focus on the products and services that they offer their customers, without considering how these products and services are created and marketed in the first place. This is where Operational Excellences (OPEX) comes in. We define OPEX as building your organization with a focus on putting the right people, process, and technology in place such that your competitive advantage doesn’t just come from what you do, but also how you do it. Of course, this must all be driven and supported by your leadership team. Let's break these components down one by one. People You need to ensure that your people have the capabilities and resou
Good Day All, I need to control a "Single Line Text" to allow only 2 patterns. To allow a user to only fill in a 3 digit number: eg. 001 or to in pattern. eg. "001-APP-01". The numbers can be anything and the letters must be "APP" with the "-" between the letters and numbers. I am new to regular expression so any help would be appreciated. Regards

Hi, I created a basic table in a dev environment and linked a smartobject from it (Made the SQL table a smartobject in essence). My issue that I am running into is that i am not getting any methods when i am going to create a view from the smartobject. I am not sure if it is permissions issue or what, but i gave the k2service account dbowner permissions. Can anyone help me out? See attached screenshots. Thanks!
Hi everyone and welcome to the Pizza and Process group on the Nintex Community. We'd love to turn this into a space where recurring listeners of the Pizza and Process webinar series can ask questions and give us feedback on what we could do to make the show better! Looking forward to speaking with you all soon!
From SAP we will get lots of PDF-documents which we will have to publish in SharePoint. The documents will be stored on the file system, so we have the challenge to get them in SharePoint. Is there a way to get the files from the file system in SharePoint using a Nintex workflow?
Symptoms Field keeps dropping the leading zeros off a Phone Number field in a text box Diagnoses This issue occurs when you have a text box set up with a data type property set as text for a field that is varchar(50) in sql server. For example: storing mobile phone numbers, however it keeps dropping off the leading zeros off the number before it saves it to the field. For example 0878118874 is saving as 878118874. Resolution Change the datatype for that specific field within SQL from Int to Nvarchar2. This should resolve the issue.
The ability to adjust the height of controls in Responsive Forms, similarly to their width (each adjustment would take up one "cell" within the form's 4xInfinity table), would be very useful for certain types of form controls. Specifically multiple-choice lookups are causing issues for one of our systems. We were able to adjust the size in the Inspect menu as below, to allow for more options to show at once, but there's no way for us to apply this in the actual form. This is an issue because, with big multi-lookups, you end up with a lot of scrolling to find documents. Below is the default size of this control, and considering this document library could have potentially hundreds of documents the issue should be obvious. Obviously Responsive Forms were designed in such a way that manually manipulating the CSS is prevented, to maintain a consistent look and design, but I don't see a reason as to why you cannot adjust controls vertically as well as horizontally, in much the same fa
The K2 Process Error Notification Service is a Windows Service which monitors process instances on the K2 blackpearl Server and notifies stakeholders via e-mail when new process errors are detected. How it works The software is installed as a Windows Service. Every minute the service will retreive all new errors for the specified K2 Error Profile and sends an e-mail to the e-mail adresses that are configured for notification. Each error has an unique ID. If a retry is performed by an administrator or the process is set to another activity the error is ?resolved?. Although the process can fall into the same error for the same activity, K2 generates a new error with a new ID and therefore the service will send a notification for this error. For a complete list of changes in version 3 see the manual.

Sometimes when I try to configure a Log History Message, I get a strange error message which makes me abort and find another way like the "Common" Section of another control to display my variable. The message is "You Must Display an Action Title". The Action Button is greyed out at that time. Later if I try it again, it works.

I want to make certain fields on my form only editable if the current user is the one named in another field, but none of the expressions i'm trying seem to work. I'm pretty sure it comes down to whatever is causing the following behaviour. I built a form that has a calculated value to display the current user, as well as a people picker that populates based on the current user. When I preview, it looks like this (Username Redacted):However when I publish the form and open an item, it looks like this:Is there any reason why it would work in preview but not when published?ThanksMish
Thru a Configure Action - Update Item I am updating a URL field, but in some cases the URL's are quite lengthy. Is there a way I can update the URL (Web Address) and the Description within the Nintex WF. Obviously I can do this manually so I assume there is a way to do it in a WF, but I am unable to figure out the solution.Example of what I wantURL:http//albertshotpizza/vancouver/downton/lisa/receiptsDescription:Lisa ReceiptsWhat happens in the WFURL:http//albertshotpizza/vancouver/downton/lisa/receiptsDescription:http//albertshotpizza/vancouver/downton/lisa/receipts
Symptoms Textbox control with a password mask Diagnoses I am designing a SmartForm that has two textbox controls which need to be masked with an asterisk (like password fields) because of the sensitivity of the data to be entered into these fields. How can I do this? Resolution The password mask is in the works for being part of an up and coming release. However you can still accomplish the mask with Javascript. Place the following code into the name property of a datalable:andltscriptandgt $('input[name="txtPassword"]').get(0).type = 'password' andlt/scriptandgt Password LabelWhere the textbox you want to have the password mask will be the name="your password box". Test it out and hide this data label when your done.
When using K2 Designer in Appit, it is good practice to use a naming convention for all the items you create. Otherwise, it becomes difficult to keep track of multiple views, forms, workflows, and smartobjects for multiple projects. Attached is the QUICK REFERENCE: NAMING CONVENTIONS FOR K2 ARTIFACTS pdf.

For added security, the title fields of the following controls no longer allow injected HTML styling:Form Tab control Report Header control All Reporting Grid controls All Reporting Chart controlsThe title fields of these controls previously had an undocumented feature that may have been discovered by solution designers that allowed them to add custom styling by injecting HTML into the title fields. If your forms or views used injected HTML for these controls, that HTML will now display as plain text. For example, if you used <span style=”color:red”>Activity View</span> to inject HTML into the Form Title Tab, you will now just see all the text, and not Activity View showing in red.If you still require custom styles for these title fields, use the following method:Add a Data Label to the form or view Select the Literal property Deselect the Prevent XSS property (to allow the control to execute the custom script) Click the ellipsis next to Expression Click Add on the Select an
