I've got records that we are maintaining in a sharepoint 2013 library that are subject to a regulatory retention period.  I have activated in the SharePoint library the records declaration feature to allow manual declaration of these records when added to the library.  I also created a retention policy on these documents for the 5-year required retention based upon a metadata field representing the record start date.   Currently I have the policy defined to move these records to the recycle bin but our administrators set up an auto empty of the recycle bin for every 30 days.   In some instances we are required to maintain these records beyond the 5-year period so it is risky to put them in the recycle bin over concerns that a record gets deleted that should not have been.  I see in the SharePoint retention policy there is an option to start a workflow so I was trying to create one in Nintex that would move any records from the main "active" library to a different "scheduled for destruc

According to a topic under Designing your Workflow - Commit Pending Changes Action NW2010 & NW2013 there are two batches - one for Nintex and one for SharePoint.I have something like this (in SP2013):Query list returns the old value. This is ok as Set field value is batched in SharePoint batch. But when I have something like this:Query list returns a new value. Doesn't this mean that Commit pending changes committed SharePoint batch?? And according to the document I mentioned earlier this shouldn't commit SharePoint batch. How is that possible?

If using a flexitask, can you have a flexitask require a certain number of approvals instead of a Majority only.  For example, I have a committee that needs to vote on an item.  They require 5 of 7 approvals before the item is approved.  Can this be done?

Hey folks!I searched the site but similar questions were left unanswered, or were for O365. I'm using on-prem and all I need to do (I say "all" because I feel like this should be simple) is set a piece of metadata that I can then display in the task list.I have already updated the task list content type that Nintex uses with this particular piece of metadata, and the workflow defines it prior to going into the Flexi-task. I have also tried editing the task form and adding the field, but the field itself doesn't appear in any of the controls ... even though it's part of the task content type. I do not understand this.I need the task - when it appears in their dashboard - to display this ONE single line of text that is sitting in the workflow and is set to a value.  It is to assist users with filtering their plethora of tasks.Thoughts??Thanks!Rhia

We have a business requirement that employees must agree to certain terms before adding a profile photo. This means we can't use the default profile photo upload processes included in applications like SharePoint, Lync (Skype), and Exchange.How can I utilize the Create/Update AD User actions in Nintex Workflow to allow a user to upload a photo to a document library and have it update AD?I have the action configured to write to the thumbnailPhoto field in AD, but I don't know which attribute on the Document Library to write to that AD field...Any help is greatly appreciated!Thanks,Dylan

Add rule is missing in the ribbon panel in the nintex forms.Requirement: Hide/show and enable/disable the controls in the nintex form.I have added control inside the panel and selected the panel to apply "Rules" but not finding. Please help me in finding the add rule button in the ribbon ASAP. The above figure shows description of the problem: In workflow designer, under the tab Edit Task Form- Edit with Nintex Form. After Clicking it, form opens and while adding Rules to the control in the form. The Rules setting box overlaps the Showall check box and add rule button and also other rules which do not allows to select other rules for editing.You do have a close button which closes the whole rule setting box rathen than only current rule setting. Please suggest any solution to this problem. 

How to validate the uniqueness of lines addition over repeating section? before doing the save and submit of the whole form.Also how to make sure, that no empty lines are added, while pressing add new rows. on repeating section.? before doing the save and submit.

Hi All,Little intro about myself - Call me Ivan. I am a beginner to this. Started to use Nintex in my new job, which I started 3 months back. I am building workflows, simple ones, without much issues. But, I do encounter a lot of "Workflow Error" and it stops for good.Logically, if I think about it, I want the workflow to log the error, and move on to the next item in the list, (or) go back to first item, and skip this error item. And in the end, mail me the error log.A typical error - Not able find a user profile, or item missing some details.I am banging my head against my desk, whenever there is an error. Can someone save my head ??

Greetings:I have read a number of posts concerning the Read Document workflow action and how to use it.  For my use case, however, I will have a number of documents in a library that do not have content controls.  I will want to read the entire document into a variable (just  few paragraphs of text).  Is there no way to do this without using content controls?Thanks,Bruce

Hi, We have created a list "list1" which has repeating fields and the repeating fields has two text boxes (tb1 and tb2)the requirement is pull the tb1 information into a dropdown from list1 repeating field into list2 using lookup or if any other way if possible.Question :-1. We know that information is stored in xml , how do we parse and retrieve the tb1 data into dropdown when the list2 form loads.     Do note that the list2 on load does pull the xml data via the lookup.2. I did notice that there are ways to use workflow to parse the data but in our case the data needs to be loaded from list1 when the form loads.Attached image of lookup of repeating fields from list2 and the dropdown is populated with xml , but need to parse it and pull specific value ( tb1 ) in this case.

Hello everybody,I´m still working on my first project which contains nintex forms.Everything works fine but at one point I still have some problems.I have a decision with two values and I like to set one of those as default,because in 99,99% of the cases the user will click on "Weiterleiten".Still tried several things - but nothing worked.Hope that one of you could help me - I couldn´t find any information in the community.Thanks in advance for your help.André

I am trying to place a people picker inside a panel.  When a name is entered at run-time, the list of possible names gets cut off at the bottom of the panel and a scroll bar is displayed at the side of the panel.  Clicking on the scroll bar to possibly see the rest of the names takes the focus away from the people picker and the names then go away.Has anyone else experienced this or know of a solution?ThanksNintex Form 2013 v.2.9.3.10

I had customized nintex approval task form, added few custom fields. Those fields need to update in new list for every task approval.  The scneario is if group of people in assign flex task -  the tasks are created individually, every individaul task approved need to update the items in new list. I used in nintex workflow but it is update only after all of the task is approved. 

As stated in Nintex Forms - Known Limitations and Behaviors: "Enforce Unique values not enforced in list forms".I am wondering though whether someone might have found a workaround for this shortcoming.I am designing a form where users can request a new site, and a certain field of my form has to be unique because the URL of the to-be-created-site will be based on the field (what my workflow is taking care of).Thanks.Glenda

Greetings:I am looking for the "top level" reference to ALL web services available to Nintex workflows. For example, I know that if I want to, say, do something with a list item I should specify <siteURL>/_vti_bin/Lists.asmx as the URLin the web service action.  I also have discovered, empirically, that I can manipulate documents in libraries with web services available through <siteURL>/_vti_vin/copy.asmx. For workflow-related operationsI can specify <siteURL>/_vti_bin/ NintexWorkflow/Workflow.asmx as the URl and then see what methods are available.This is all great and works like a charm, but requires that I know, IN ADVANCE, the exact URL for the web services that I want to invoke.  What I am asking about here is the high-level list of all web services that are AVAILABLE. Good day all,Trying to create a document set to store some documents related to a list item and I can create the docset just fine, but if I try to assign values to the user and date properties of the document set I get the following errors:When attempting to set user field: Failed to create item. Invalid data has been used to update the list item. The field you are trying to update may be read only.When attempting to set DateTime field: Failed to create item. The file or folder name contains characters that are not permitted. Please use a different name.I found some advice on this blog, but his resolution didn't work for me either. I keep getting the same error whether I pass i:0#.w|domainusername, -1;#domainusername or domainusernameSo the solution I found was to create the document set and then use the Update Item action to update the fields after the docset was created. When I use my list form with a NF list form web part, the "format text" toolbar does not appear in the ribbon. But when I open it as a normal new/edit item form, the text toolbar appear normal in the ribbon.Do you know guys how I can achieve this with the list form web part?

I have a people picker field (called EmployeeName) in my form that brings in the current users preferred name. I then have a calculated value field that matching EmployeeName to bring in the user name. However the user name comes in with the claim token and domain name when all I want is the user name. I have tried different options in the replace function of the calculated value field and I am close but cant get rid of the | does anyone know how to do this??I tried using replace(EmployeeName, "i:0#.w|admhn"

Hi,I am facing problem in restricting people picker search result to specific user group when the radio button value selected.Ex: I have user groups called A, B and C in SharePoint 2010. And radio button has values X and Y. If I select radio button value as X then people picker search result(when I try to add person name in that field) should restrict to user group A which means I should see only User group A people names in search result. If I select radio button as Y then I should able to see all the persons names from all user group.Please help me out to achieve this.Thanks

i am trying to set up a workflow that pushes out an email reminder at different times before such official "due date", e.g., 6 months out, 3 months out, etc. I have a few different fields set up in my list to pull dates from, like date of filing and next due date.  the next due date is the date that the reminders are leading up to, e.g., next due date is 2/18/2017, the reminder will be 6 months before that date, 3 months before, etc.  leading up to the date.  when i put in the calculate date button and put in the info, is  there a way to put in the date of either the filing date or next due date so that the time calculates off of that instead of today's date?
