Issue
After running the Nintex installer, some Nintex solutions say 'Error' next to them on the Manage Farm Solutions page.
Resolution
- Navigate to Central Administration > System Settings > Manage Farm Solutions
- Click on the solution and see if there is an elaboration as to why it is in an error state. (examples below)
- Once errors are addressed, please retract Nintex Solutions one at a time in the following order:
nintexworkflow2013backwardscompatibilityui.wsp (2013 only)
nintexworkflow2013enterprisefeaturesbackwardscompat.wsp (2013 only)
nintexlivecore.wsp (2010/2013)
nintexexternalconnection.wsp (2016+)
nintexworkflow20xxenterprisefeatures.wsp
nintexforms20xx.wsp
nintexforms20xxcore.wsp
nintexworkflow20xx.wsp
nintexworkflow20xxcore.wsp
nintexcommon.wsp
nintexworkflow2013enterprisefeaturesbackwardscompat.wsp (2013 only)
nintexlivecore.wsp (2010/2013)
nintexexternalconnection.wsp (2016+)
nintexworkflow20xxenterprisefeatures.wsp
nintexforms20xx.wsp
nintexforms20xxcore.wsp
nintexworkflow20xx.wsp
nintexworkflow20xxcore.wsp
nintexcommon.wsp
- Once complete, deploy the solutions one at a time opposite of the order above (starting with nintexcommon.wsp).
Additional Information
- If retracting/deploying solutions in your environment is very slow, you may see an improvement by clearing the SharePoint Configuration Cache:
- One example of an issue that may cause a Nintex Solution to be in an 'Error' state is if a process is using a Nintex file. Troubleshooting for this issue can be found at the article below:
