Lightning Experience DocGen Package Designer (LEDD) Updates

  • Support for the Nintex Sign / Adobe Sign delivery option is now available. In this implementation you choose which Adobe Sign Agreement Template configured in Adobe Sign for Salesforce to use when sending documents for signature. Known limitations:
    • Agreement Templates with Run Time variables are not yet supported. (Feature support planned)
    • You may get generic internal errors for cases when a DocGen Designer does not have permissions to the Adobe Sign for Salesforce application, or Agreement Template objects. (Fix planned)
    • Adobe Sign delivery options created in Classic that do not use an Agreement Template are not currently supported.
  • Corrected a User Interface issue where some items were not grouped together correctly when in View state.

 

Updates

  • Hidden Delivery Options can now be used in the Test DocGen Package Lightning Component in Salesforce Classic, and LEDD in Lightning.

Lightning Experience DocGen Package Designer (LEDD) Updates

  • Start Nintex Workflow delivery option is now supported on the Delivery tab, and inputs can be retrieved if OAuth is enabled on the DocGen Admin tab
  • Apex relationship improvements
    • Optimized how we filter for applicable Apex classes when creating new Apex Data relationships
    • Creating child Apex relationships is now available
    • Edit of parent and child Apex relationships is also available
    • Order by, Filter, Advanced Filter, and Group and Hierarchy Repeat By options are available too!
  • Improved the User Interaction for relationships
    • Adding or editing a relationship will now display a card inline in the page, no longer in a modal.
    • You can now edit multiple relationships at a time Repeat By options are now dynamic, adjusted according to the selections that may be made to a relationships parent, with validation to prevent saving relationships with invalid copy type settings
    • “Max Records” fields is now available for applicable relationships to limit the number of records returned when pulling in repeating data into your documents
    • Object picklists will now display the API for Objects with duplicated labels to assist DocGen Designers in selecting the correct Object for their needs
  • Various user interface clean up
  • Increased the limit of files listed to 500 in the file selection control when adding new DocGen Package templates.
  • Fixed an issue where the Process Option setting of Automatically Process and Send was not correctly applied to a delivery option

Updates

  • DocGen Users can now change the emails templates for email delivery options when generating documents in Salesforce Lightning Console apps
  • Text labels for “eSignLive” have been updated to “OneSpan Sign” to reflect updated branding by OneSpan (formerly Vasco, eSignlive)
  • Corrected an issue that prevented DocGen Designers from adding more than nine (9) filters to a Component in a Component Group
  • The tag for “Attachment Names (w/ extensions)” in the Field Tagger has been corrected to <<attachmentNamesWithExtensions>>. The previous tag of <<attachNamesWithExtension>> was incorrect, and should be updated in any applicable DocGen Package templates

 

Bug Fixes

  • Salesforce Orgs with Person Accounts enabled should longer experience issues where the Contacts are not preset for email delivery options, or data from Contact records not populating when using the Nintex Drawloop DocGen Lightning Component.
  • Resolved an issue where ContentDocument files were incorrectly thought to be ContentNotes, causing errors for some DocGen Runs. We have optimized how we correctly determine ContentDocument files, however ContentNote files are not yet supported, but have been to added to our mid-term roadmap as a future enhancement
  • Corrected an issue that caused errors for some customers generating documents to be sent to DocuSign using Salesforce mobile
  • User Interface issues
    • The Test DocGen Package control on DocGen Package records should now always stay where it’s supposed to
    • Breadcrumbs links to DocGen Packages no longer appear when it is not supposed to
    • Fields for eSignature delivery option recipients when generating documents in Lightning using a button are no longer shifted out of alignment. Also made sure that the appropriate icons are displayed next to required fields when applicable.

New Feature and Updates

  • Table of Contents are now updated for Original output docgen runs. If merged data results in a change of page numbers, the table of contents will reflected the updated page numbers.

 

Updates

  • Adobe Sign / Nintex Sign delivery options using Adobe Sign Agreement Templates are now supported with the latest version of the Adobe Sign for Salesforce application.
  • Improved how we determine file types for URL based DocGen Package template files, this will reduce the errors for cases when the docgen process could not correctly process some PDF files stored in external systems.
  • Updated the error message for URL based template files if the file type can not be determined or is missing.
  • Resolved an issue where data suffixes ("3rd", "4th") might be output incorrectly for some locales, there is no such thing as Dec 3th!
  • Text labels for "eSignLive" have been updated to "OneSpan Sign" to reflect updated branding by OneSpan (formerly Vasco, eSignlive).

New Feature and Updates

  • DocGen packages should no longer error for scenarios using our processDdpComponent when you are logged in as another user. Scenarios such as these would surface in cases when you may be testing your docgen packages and need to log in as a community or portal user.
  • Transparent backgrounds are now support for rich text content. This particular update helps in cases when content that contains a transparent background color is copied from another source to a rich text field in Salesforce. Previously the background color would case the document generation process to fail, now your documents will successfully generated with the transparent background.

Lightning Experience DocGen Package Designer updates

  • Added the ability to save all DocGen Package Templates that are in Edit mode.
  • When viewing and editing a DocGen Package, the label that says "Selected Object" has been updated to "Starting Object".
  • The appropriate text icon will now display when configuring text email templates for email delivery options.
  • Added informational helper text to the DocGen Package Visibility control.

  • Updated the file attachment badges on the email compose page in Lightning to grey with white text to keep inline with Salesforce Lightning Design System styles.
  • You can once again import Sample DocGen Packages with the Setup Wizard, or from the DocGen Admin → Configuration → Sample DocGen Packages page.
  • In Lightning, when entering an invalid value in the "To" for email delivery options we will no longer redirect you to back to the record. Instead we will show an appropriate and helpful error message. 
  • The Lightning Component will no longer display an Objects API name when telling you it will attach your documents back to the record you're running the DocGen Package from.

  • Whoops, the "Include" label when adding or editing Additional Ad Hoc Files on the Documents tab went missing. It's back now thanks to our engineering team highly trained in Pokemon Go skills to catch them all.
  • Adding additional DocGen Package availability for types you have already configured no longer results in a "No records available" error.
  • The header on the DocGen Package record page will once against span the entire width of the page when resizing your browser window.

 

Bug Fixes

  • Duplicate Activity History records will no longer be created with running a DocGen Package from Case objects using the Salesforce Email delivery option, now only one record will appear as intended.
  • The processDdp component will once again correctly retrieve properly formatted fileUrls for the onCompleteCallback parameter. This resolves an issue that prevented some generated files to be passed on to their next step for custom implementations.
  • Resolved an issue that prevented uninstalling Nintex Drawloop DocAutomation because of a specific custom label.

Lightning Experience DocGen Package Designer Updates

  • You can now create Apex relationships in LEDD. Order By, Filtering, and Group or Hierarchy repeat by options are not currently support in this first release of Apex relationships.

  • Uh, dragging to sort templates had a slight malfunction. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

  • Clicking the pencil icon to configure Ad Hoc document settings will actually put this control in Edit mode. 

  • The "Add Delivery Option" button is now disabled for brand new DocGen Packages when configuring the Delivery tab.

  • Both options for the "Make DocGen Package Available On" filter are selected by default when creating new DocGen Packages.

  • The DocGen Progress Steps indicator card will now transition more smoothly once all steps are completed.

  • A special animation will display when creating your first ever DocGen Package in LEDD. Keep an eye out for our celebration of you!

 

Updates

  • The "Connect Production Edition" button has been removed from the DocGen Admin Home > Configuration > Editions for Sandbox installations. We removed this feature as it is no longer required following our September 2018 update that provides all Sandbox will have access to all Enterprise features, but are limited to a total of 200 automated and 200 non-automated DocGen Runs per day. 

  • The user experience for scenarios involving iPads and Salesforce Lightning Console should be more seamless when running a DocGen Package using a DocuSign delivery option that has "Signing Preview & Edit", or "Embedded Signing" enabled.

 

Bug Fixes

  • Resolved an issue from our last release where Orgs with no value set for the Country address field on the Setup > Company Profile > Company Information page caused an error on the DocGen Admin tab.

  • The "Back to" links will now all display the correct ⪻ icons when running Mass DocGen packages

  • Resolved an issue that required DocGen Admins to authorize each time they visited certain pages on the DocGen Admin tab. In some cases you may need to authorize one last time, but no longer every time.

  • DocuSign Delivery options with an Editor signer type will no longer error if a blank recipient exists with a lower Signing Order than exists for the Editor.

  • Migrating Scheduled DocGen Packages with a delivery option configured for the Scheduled Delivery Option setting will no longer result in an error.

Lightning Experience DocGen Designer

  • Attachment and Salesforce File storage location delivery methods can now be added to previously created non-attachment Delivery Options.
  • Updated the width of the Order By > Field option when creating / editing relationships to visually match the rest of the form it is contained in.
  • For DocGen Packages with a starting object that is disabled, such as Quotes or Orders, we now place them in a view only mode with appropriate messaging to the DocGen Admins. Because the starting object is disabled, we lock down editing to prevent errors or issues with the DocGen Package.

 

Updates

  • The labels for the Adobe Sign delivery have been updated to "Adobe / Nintex Sign" to reflect our new DocAutomation offering that includes Nintex Sign powered by Adobe Sign

  • The Lob delivery option has been deprecated, you can no longer create new Lob delivery options, or convert a previously non-Lob delivery option to Lob.

  • Resolved an issue that prevented generating documents with the Drawloop Lightning Component in Salesforce Lightning Communities that have a custom domains.

  • More than two (2) font decorations (bold, italic, underline, etc.) and a color applied to text in a Rich Text Field will no longer prevent the font color from being applied to the content in your final generated documents. 

  • The "Remove Instance Names From URLs for Visualforce, Community Builder, Site.com Studio, and Content Files" critical update will no longer cause Scheduled Report docgen package runs to result in an error.

  • Component Groups within a table with the "Delete Empty container if empty" option enabled will no longer result in an error.

  • Minor cosmetic and label changes to menu items in LEDD, specifically:
    • Changed "Top Level" to "Relationships from Other Objects"
    • Changed the "Delete" to "Remove" in a few spots
    • Add the Trash icon to the "Remove" option, and the Pencil icon to the "Edit" option, for Document Template menus
    • Changed the checkbox toggle to a checkbox for the "Convert Word Fields to Text" Delivery - Output Details option.
  • You can now view details for Broken Relationships, allowing the opportunity to view it's configuration before deleting it so that you can start re-create another (better) relationship appropriately.

  • Salesforce Email delivery methods can now be added to delivery options with an already configured storage location.
  • Creating new delivery options to store documents to Attachments or Salesforce Files (depends on DocGen Admin setting) is now supported.
  • Folders are now supported for DocGen Package templates stored in Salesforce Files.
  • Filtering is now supported for Stand Alone Data relationships, and child relationships from the DocGen Package starting object.
  • You can now edit the settings for Ad Hoc files.
  • Added helper text when viewing the settings for Ad Hoc files.
  • The "DocGen Package Button Wizard" button has been removed from the DocGen Package list view in Lightning.
  • Clicking the pencil icon or double clicking a field in the Microsoft Edge browser will no longer surface an error.
  • When creating a new DocGen Package, after saving the details the DocGen Package name is now displayed in the browser page title.
  • "Microsoft" has been removed from some labels in LEDD. Not that we don't love Microsoft, we really do, we need the space to accommodate some other text and give the UI some breathability.

Lightning Experience DocGen Package Designer updates

  • Creating Salesforce Email delivery options is now available.
  • It is now possible to edit delivery methods for Salesforce Attachment or Salesforce Files storage locations.
  • When a DocGen Package has no templates added, the "Add Template" was clickable but did nothing. Instead we've disabled the button until at least 1 template has been added to your DocGen Package.
  • DocGen Packages created for Custom Objects will now display that object's label instead of its API name.
  • We no longer allow you to unintentionally create Stand Alone Data relationships four (4) levels deep. While it was possible to create this in in a DocGen package, data for the fourth level would not have surfaced in your generated documents.
  • DocGen Package Limit Availability options have been corrected. The options for this setting apply filters when generating documents under different experiences, namely single record vs mass (multiple record) views.

  • Added support for Lightning Console using the classic run experience from a button.
  • The Log a Case button on the DocGen Admin Home Page has been updated to direct customers to https://customer.nintex.com, the Nintex Customer Central portal to help you manage cases and product subscriptions.
  • In the event an error occurs when loading the DocGen Admin tab, we made adjustments such that not all of the options for this tab area unusable, and we not display more appropriate and helpful error messages.

Updates, Bugs, & Other Fixes

  • Unordered lists will no longer display a ? or  ⃞ symbol for each list item in web-based or modern desktop email clients when using our Email Merge feature. Note: ? or other icons may appear still appear in older desktop based clients due to lack of support for the appropriate unordered list symbols.
  • Removed support for Salesforce Files sync with Pause to Edit. Any DocGen settings currently configured to use Files Sync on the DocGen Admin > Settings page will now default to the Upload option. File Sync support was removed following Salesforce retiring Files Sync on May 25, 2018.
  • Fixed an issue with dynamic hyperlinks for certain rare hyperlinks in Word.
  • Corrected an issue that sometimes prevented strikethrough content in Rich Text fields from accurately shown as strikethrough in generated documents.
  • Added a new error message in case where a template file could not be retrieved during the docgen process.

  • Implemented X-ray vision to catch menus in the Relationship Forest that were hiding behind trees (aka other Relationships).
  • In app helpful guides for the Lightning Experience DocGen Designer are coming.

This release is a backend update to our DocGen Engine. 

 

Updates, Bugs, & Other Fixes

  • Automated DocGen Packages that include Salesforce Reports are now supported in Salesforce Lightning. 
  • DocGen Packages that include template documents stored in Office 365 will once again work when generating documents with our Lightning Component.
  • Retrieving template documents stored in Veeva Vault is now supported with the latest versions of the Veeva Vault API.
  • The feature to remove empty spaces in generated documents if a Component Group is dynamically filtered out was misbehaving, it has been shown the error of its ways and will now correctly delete list items or paragraphs as it was intended to.   • Embedded Signing for DocuSign delivery options will once again work for users on an iPad. 
  • Error message improvements:
    • Added a new error in the event that data replication would cause the output file to exceed maximum file size limits. 
    • Added an error message for scenarios when template documents can not be downloaded from Salesforce.
    • Corrected the error code that is displayed in cases where a DocGen run is initiated but the Nintex Drawloop DocGen app has been uninstalled.

  • For sandboxes of organizations created after the Salesforce Winter '19 release, or if the "Stabilize the Hostname for My Domain URLs in Sandboxes" Critical Update is in enabled in pre-Winter '19 sandbox orgs, redirects on document generation completion will no longer take users to the login page.
  • Component Groups connected to multiple DocGen Packages should no longer error when attempting to load the Component Group.
  • Users assigned the DocGen Admin or DocGen User permission set from the User's details will now show up on the DocGen Admin > Users Permissions page.

  • Using the "Specify credential for Send On Behalf Of" Authentication for DocuSign will no longer result in all envelopes being sent as the DocuSign user specified in Third Party Integrations. 
  • Ordered lists from Rich Text Fields will once again have their numbers in the correct sequence in document generated.
  • SMTP delivery options configured for "PDF & Originals" output should no longer result in corrupted original output documents.
  • Optimized how folders are stored to Box. DocGen runs should see faster performance in cases where your Box account may have many folders with the same name. 
  • Optimized how we retrieve information for Objects in Salesforce.
  • The LOOP delivery option is being discontinued. Delivery options that are configured to use LOOP will display a message indicating the feature is no longer available. 
  • Sending generated documents to Lob is being discontinued. Delivery options that are configured to use Lob will display a message indicating Lob is no longer available during DocGen Package runs.
