Issue

Error during 5.3 installation: "Target did not complete successfully: App Wizard.kspx"

Symptoms

When running the 5.3 installation,  at the very end of installation on the configuration analysis you will see the following error within the summary:

“Logged Error: Target did not complete successfully: App Wizard.kspx”

Also trying to manually deploy the package which can be located within the K2 directory presents the following message on the Package & Deployment tool:

“The following errors occurred while compiling the process (with framework version 4.6.1)”

Looking at the install trace again we could see the following:

WorkflowName.Workflow.kprx(0,0) : error : The field 'SmartForms Runtime' used in the Event Item on the 'Manual Error Resolution' Event does not exist in the environment library. Create the required field where necessary"

Troubleshooting Steps

To resolve this go into the K2 management page and review the environment library fields. Make sure that the SmartForm runtime fields present a valid URL. If this appears blank, place in a valid URL across all templates within your environment.

Once done you may choose to either:

- Run the installation again and choose the configure option which should deploy the failed package.
Or
- Deploy the App Wizard package manually which can be found within following directory: C:Program Files (x86)K2Setup
