Code Fix: Unable to deploy K2 Workflows that have item references with file and image properties

Issue Description

When you attempt to deploy a K2 Workflow that has an item reference with file or image properties, where the file, image, or sub-part of the property is used in any expression on any step, an error occurs.

Error Message:

The following error occurs: “The step contains a SmartField that references a removed SmartObject Property.”

Resolution

The fix is available in:

• K2 Five (5.6) Fix Pack 02.
• K2 Five (5.5) March 2022 Cumulative Update Fix Pack 13.

1. Ensure you have the correct K2 version and/or Cumulative update installed. See KB001893 to see what Fix Pack level you have installed.
2. Download the latest Fix Pack using the links in the table above for the version you require.
3. Install the Fix Pack to apply the fix.
4. It is recommended to clear browser cache and refresh the page.
