Code Fix: Error occurs starting a Legacy K2 Workflow from K2 management

Issue Description

When you have a legacy K2 Workflow which contains a binary process data field, an error occurs when attempting to start the legacy K2 Workflow via K2 management.

Error Message:

The following error occurs: “Unable to cast object of type ‘System.String’ to type System.Byte[]’.”

Resolution

The fix is available in:

• K2 Five (5.4) March 2022 Cumulative Update Fix Pack 01.
• K2 Five (5.5) March 2022 Cumulative Update Fix Pack 02.

1. Ensure you have the correct K2 version and/or Cumulative update installed. See KB001893 to see what Fix Pack level you have installed.
2. Download the latest Fix Pack using the links in the table above for the version you require.
3. Install the Fix Pack to apply the fix.
4. It is recommended to clear browser cache and refresh the page.
