Remove Hyperlink

I have a field editor where i’m trying to display the “created date” and “createdby” fields in read-only mode.  I don’t want the fields to act as hyperlinks, but they stubbornly refuse to bow to my will… How can I remove hyperlinks?  I’ve tried using templates and triple “{{{}}}”, but no luck…
