is there any way to make fields readonly mode in skuid after saving the model?

There have been conversations here in the past about a button that changes the mode of components. (see here: https://community.skuid.com/t/edit-mode-button) The snippet proposed in these topics could be repurposed and executed from the model save event (as a model action).
