is there any way to make comments associated with SF tasks appear in skuid pages/ tables?

Ben,

If you’re referring to comments made in Chatter check out the TaskFeed object; I think it’s what you’re looking for.

The Comments field in the UI is Description in the API. Are you looking for something else?
