Copying and Pasting Actions Between Botflows in Nintex RPA LE (Foxtrot)

Users may attempt to copy steps or entire tasks from one botflow to another and find that the copy/paste function does not work when multiple instances of Nintex Foxtrot RPA are open.

This typically occurs when users try to copy actions between botflows running in separate Foxtrot RPA instances or across different machines.

Instructions 

Copying and pasting actions is only supported within the same Bot instance. If Foxtrot RPA is opened in multiple instances, actions cannot be copied from one instance to another.

However, there are supported methods to reuse actions or tasks.

Supported Methods:

1. Copy/Paste Actions Within the Same Bot Instance

     You can copy and paste actions between botflows as long as both botflows are accessed within the                same Foxtrot RPA instance.

Steps:

1. Open one instance of Foxtrot.
2. Open Botflow 1.
3. Select one or more actions.
4. Copy the actions (Ctrl + C).
5. Close Botflow 1.
6. Open Botflow 2 in the same Foxtrot RPA instance.
7. Paste the actions (Ctrl + V) into Botflow 2.

The actions will be pasted from Foxtrot RPA's internal clipboard.

2. Import a Task from Another Botflow:

     You can also reuse automation logic by importing a task from an existing .RPA botflow file.
     This allows you to bring tasks from another botflow without manually recreating them.

3. Multi-Select Copy/Paste Within the Same Botflow:

     Within a single botflow project, you can:

• Select multiple actions
  • Hold down Ctrl and click each action needed or click the first action and hold down Shift and select the last action to select multiple actions.
• Copy or cut them
  • Right click and select Copy or Cut from menu or use Ctrl+C to copy.
• Paste them elsewhere within the same botflow
  • Right click and select Paste from menu or use Ctrl+V to paste.
    
    
    
    
    

    Important Notes: 
    
    

  • Copy/paste does not work between two separate Foxtrot RPA instances.
  • Copy/paste cannot be performed across different machines directly.
  • Both botflows must be opened within the same Bot instance for clipboard functionality to work.
