Topic

When using the Click action or any other targeting action, while interacting with a webpage, if RPA finds the target correctly the first time and then subsequently does not find the target check to see if the page has a scroll bar.

If the webpage has a scroll bar and when the user scrolls to the bottom, the webpage loads more data, this is known as “Lazy Loading.” The website only loads the data when needed to shorten the load time.

This means that the target that the user is searching for literally doesn't exist until the page is scrolled far enough for it to load in. Without the manual scroll first, the action fails to find the target.

If you are having this issue, test your botflow manually by stepping through the actions and after you receive an error, such as "Target Not Found," manually scroll to the part of the webpage that you want RPA to target and then manually run the action again. If RPA finds the target the second time, this can be resolved with an additional action or two.

Additional Information

To fix this issue:

- Add a Send Value action just before the Click action that is failing.

- In the Send Value action, use the Magic Wand to select the Keyboard option.

- Choose the End key 5 or 10 times, depending on how far you need the page to scroll. The first action will bring you to the bottom of the current loaded page. Each additional action will load the next section of the website and bring you to the bottom of it.

- Optionally, if you need the webpage to be at the top when you execute the Click action, create a second Send Value action with the Home key and this will bring you to the top of the page and the loaded data remains for RPA to be able to find.

**Note: The Nintex RPA Development Team is working on a fix for this issue but it will be in a future release (after version 17.8 of the bot).
