Document Approvers Requires all promasters to approve

Hi, I’m wondering why document upload or change approval requires all 3 promasters to approve, even though we set the document approvers regime to ‘First only required to approve’. I uploaded and changed the file, and I am a promaster. Hope you can help.

Hi @berna.recto

Based on the configuration shown in your screenshot, the Document Approvers regime is set to “First only required to approve", so we would generally expect a single approval to satisfy the document approval requirement.

However, the screenshots show that three users were generated as document approvers and only one has approved, while the other two remain pending.

From the information available, this behaviour does not immediately appear to align with the selected approval regime. The Nintex documentation confirms that document approvers can be derived from assigned roles, Process Group Champions, and Process Owners/Experts, but it does not provide detail on why all approvers would remain pending when the regime is set to "First only required to approve".

To investigate further, could you confirm:

  • Is the document still in an Awaiting Approval state after the first approval?
  • Was the approval request created after the approval regime was set to First only required to approve?
  • Which version of the platform are you using (cloud or on-premise)?

If the document remains awaiting approval after the first approver has approved, despite the regime being set to First only required to approve, this may require further investigation as it would not be the expected outcome based on the configuration shown.
