We’ve used AI to translate forms into other languages since Nov 2023.  It has been a game changer for organisations that have a wide community of users.  However, what happens if the person submits their answers in another language?  Well, that’s very easy using our new AI language actions.

First we want to detect what language they were using and we have two options for that.  We could see which language they translated their form into by accessing either of the form variables Language name or Language code.

That makes the assumption they switched their form to a different language and also answered in that language which might not always be the case.  Maybe they switched their form to French but still answered in English.

So the more robust way of checking is to interrogate one of their answers using the new AI detect language action.  In my example, I have an enquiry form and one of the fields is called “What is your enquiry”.  I pass the value of that field to the detect language action and store the result.

Assuming our call centre operators use English as their primary language, I then check if the language was English and proceed as normal.  If they used a different language then I want to translate that using the AI Translate Text action.

Then I can send that translated text to the call centre operator via email and/or a form.  In my example, I’ve shown them the original text and the translated text (just in case).  Also, because I know the language they used, I can tell the operator the text was translated.

The brilliant thing here, is the operator can write their answer in English and we’ll get the AI actions to translate the response back to French and they could even translate the subject line of the email too to make it a seamless experience.

These AI features are so easy to use yet they make a huge difference to the customer experience.  They also make a huge difference for your customer facing staff because their lives suddenly become easier.  Our product teams are working hard to release more and more AI features so stay tuned here for your updates!
