When we create a workflow on UAT/Stage environment we need to import it to Production environment. Then we need to change the environment URLs (Web Service calls and such) and email addresses.

Most organizations use at the minimal 2 environments - a Development/Staging environment and a live Production environment. Larger organizations may adopt more environments.
Different versions of a Product e.g ver1, ver 1,5, ver 2 may have its own Development environment
Each environment is usually closed or separated from each other.
Each environment has it own source code, settings and configuration.
