How does people make change that required significant testing after a workflow had gone live?

Do they make a copy and just switch over? I would hate to tell end users to update to a different URL.

Hi @RC1101,

That’s correct. You can only specify one use type. Production or Development.
As above, the only way to test the changes is to open the saved workflow and use the workflow testing tab.
If this is not practical for the workflow owner to open the workflow designer, you will need to make a copy of the production workflow, make your changes and then test.

HI @RC1101,

This isn't the best approach for production, but if you need to proceed, please follow these steps.

  1. Open the workflow
  2. Save It. This creates a draft.  You can now develop the workflow without affecting the current production workflow.
  3. In the designer, you can click on the Workflow Testing tab to test the draft workflow.
  4. When you are ready for production, you can click publish.  This will publish your draft workflow into production. I am assuming that the workflow has a start form. This URL will not change, so users will not need to be redirected.

I can save it but can’t publish to development. look like only 1 type can be publish.

for significant change, we will have business owner to do their own test and not doing it ourselves

so here what I think.

from Publish Production, save a draft. make change, surface test.

Save a copy. Publish copy to Development. workflow owner can test.

after that either publish the original draft to Production or more change to the original draft and save a copy to publish to a new development.
