Hello,

I am experiencing an issue with the Generate Document action in Nintex Workflow Cloud.

Issue Summary

I am generating a single PDF document composed of multiple Word templates.

  • Templates Page1, STEDI , Page2, Page3, signature, Page3b generate successfully.
  • When I add a 7e Template (Page4), the workflow fails.
  • When I remove the 7e Template (Page4), the workflow completes successfully
  • As soon as I add another Template (7e), the Generate Document action fails with the following error:

[Action.DL.DocGenDocOutputError] Error generating document.

Run ID: 6ff6fa05-91c2-46b2-a57b-34f4f43937ac,

Error ID: 77999816-97b2-46ec-a2e0-e6ff7b3b3ef3,

Message: [Action.DL.FailedToProcessMSOfficeFile]

An error occurred processing the Microsoft Office file..

Troubleshooting Performed

I have already performed the following tests:

  • Removed Template 4 → workflow succeeds.
  • Recreated Template 4 from a completely new blank Word document.
  • Simplified Template 4 to contain only a single field.
  • Removed all images and formatting.
  • Re-uploaded the document to SharePoint.
  • Restored previous versions of the document.
  • Replaced Template 4 with a copy of Template 3 (which works successfully by itself).

Despite all these tests, the workflow still fails whenever a 7e template is included in the Generate Document action.

Since even a copy of a working template causes the same error when used in that position, I suspect the issue may be related to the Generate Document configuration or document merge process rather than the content of the Word document itself.

Could you please help investigate this issue?

Thank you.
