Character Limits for Single Line of Text for 0365 and NAC/NWC

What is the limit of characters a workflow "Single line of text" variable can hold for the various Nintex platform - O365, NAC/NWC ?

Here is what I manage to search from the forums

For Nintex for SharePoint - @butlerj stated a limit of 255 characters

For NWC, @SimonMuntz stated exceeds 255 character - unless Input validation option is used to limit the Length to 255
