Unable to get the variable parameter displayed when developing external start workflow using C#

Issue

When Developing with External Start feature as explained in here, the user is unable to get the result of the variable that has been setup on the Site Workflow. 
 

Resolution

Make sure that the workflow variable has been set to Show on Start Form.
