Recovering Workflow from an Error

QUESTION
Are there ways for a workflow to recover in case of an error?
ANSWER
Once a workflow is in an error state, it can only be terminated and restarted. This behavior is controlled by SharePoint and cannot be superseded by Nintex Workflow.
