TOPIC

How to configure the Query LDAP action to successfully return results?

INSTRUCTIONS

1. When configuring the "LDAP Path" for Microsoft Active Directory, specify the base DN in the following format: dc=domain1,dc=local
Replace the domain1 and local to match the directory server being connected to.
Microsoft Server provides a tool called ldp.exe which is useful for finding out and configuring the the LDAP structure of your server.
Example:

LDAP://DC=domain,DC=internal‍

The LDAP action also has an icon next to the "LDAP Path" field which opens the "LDAP Picker" tool to make configuring this field easier.

2. Make sure the root distinguished name (DN) for the LDAP path to use when running queries against the directory server is valid.

Example:

LDAP://CN=Users,DC=domain,DC=internal

3. Configure a query to return the sAMAccountName of a user.

Example:

(&(displayName=USERSDISPLAYNAMEHERE))

4.Specify the property to retrieve from the query.
Example:
sAMAccountName
