Get ready! Changes to Microsoft Exchange online affects DocGen packages

Published: January 15, 2026

Do you use Microsoft Exchange online with our SMTP (email) delivery option in your DocGen packages?

Beginning March 1, 2026, Microsoft has announced that it will start rejecting calls to exchange online in this way. This means these emails will no longer be sent. The Nintex team is here to help.

Actions required

The following should be done by a Salesforce administrator/ DocGen package designer in your organization:

  1. Identify DocGen packages using the SMTP (email) delivery option.
  2. Choose a different email delivery approach:
    • Option A: Change the SMTP server you are using in the Delivery option to another service. For example, sendGrid and SMTPtogo have been popular alternatives
    • Option B: Use Salesforce’s email delivery. To do this, you will need to add an Email delivery option to the DocGen packages affected and copy over the values from the SMTP delivery option before deleting them.
