Issue Description
When you deploy a workflow containing a SmartObject step based on a Web Service Endpoint Service Instance, the deployment may fail if the SoapClientProtocol SerializedValue parameter is included. This issue occurs even when the parameter is left empty or populated with different test values, with the deployment resulting in an error.
Error Message:
The following error occurs:
“The '(' character, hexadecimal value 0x28, cannot be included in a name”
Resolution
The fix is available in:
- Nintex Automation K2 (5.9) Fix Pack 12.
- Ensure you have the correct K2 version and/or Cumulative update installed. See KB001893 to see what Fix Pack level you have installed.
- Download the latest Fix Pack using the links in the table above for the version you require.
- Install the Fix Pack to apply the fix.
- It is recommended to clear browser cache and refresh the page.
Considerations
If you have an endpoint web service service instance where the "Add SoapHttpClientProtocolParameter to method" key is set to True, refreshing or updating the service instance after applying this fix may cause the generated service objects to no longer align with their associated SmartObjects. In this case, the SmartObjects will need to be updated, along with any existing mappings to the SoapHttpClientProtocol parameter used in workflows, forms, or related integrations, as the underlying system names may change.
