While attempting to upgrade Automation K2, the following error is presented before the upgrade begins processing:

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

This error is an indication that something is currently misconfigured. The issue can be resolved by running the Configure option through the Setup Manager for the version of Automation K2 that is currently installed. Once this has been completed successfully, you can they proceed to attempt the upgrade again.
