Configuration Analysis Error on K2 Sites after Configure

Problem

Issue:

When running the K2 Setup Manager with the Configure option in a K2 Five (5.6) environment with a previously applied Cumulative Update or Fix Pack, the following error is encountered:

Filename: \\?\[Install Directory]\K2\Webservices\Identity\web.config

Line Number: [Line number of duplicate tag]

Config section 'system.web/httpRuntime' already defined. Sections must only appear once per config file. See the help topic location for exceptions

Symptoms:Duplicate 'httpRuntime' config tag is written to the web.config file.

Solution

If you have a Cumulative Update or Fix Pack installed and you run a reconfigure, you need to install the latest Cumulative Update or Fix Pack again after the reconfigure is completed successfully.

Note:From Fix Pack 17 onwards, if you perform a reconfigure without reinstalling the fix pack, users will not be able to log into K2 Designer/Manager/Workspace/Runtime after the reconfigure completes and the below error will occur:

“HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error”
