Hello Everyone,

We are planning to move from 5.5 to 5.7, should we plan to move to 5.6 first or direct upgrade to 5.7 will work?

What are the steps to follow for same?

Are there any major changes we should be aware of before upgrading to latest version?

Thanks,

Prakriti

Does your current K2 server and SQL server support in place upgrade?

Or will you need to move K2 to a new server and then upgrade?

It is recommended that you create a snapshot of the K2 server and database backup before upgrading.

You can usually upgrade straight from 5.5 to 5.7.

I’m going to recommend looking over the Release Notes. In Five (5.6)+, there is a new support feature for SQL Server encryption. If the SQL box/instance has it, then you want to enable it in 5.6/5.7 platform.
