I have followed the instructions provided in the K2 Cloud documentation (https://help.k2.com/onlinehelp/k2cloud/userguide/Current/default.htm#How-Tos/PDFToEmail/Attach-PDF-To-Email-In-WF.htm?Highlight=PDF) and keep getting an error on the email step that the smart object is empty. I am at a loss and feel there is a step missing in this article.  Any insite would be appreciated.

Hi Laura,

On the email step, are you using the PDF File smartobject to pass in the ID and load the pdf previously generated as an attachment?

Have you verified that the output from the Save PDF control is correctly returned and passed into the parameter?

One suggestion on verifying this is to configure an email event and use that parameter in the body in order to verify that it is populated and returning as expected.  If that parameter is returned, you can then verify that it returns the PDF by using the PDF File smartobject and passing that value into the load method.

System > Controls > Save As PDF > PDF File > Load

Thanks,

Colin

Yes i am using the PDF File smartobject to pass in the ID and load the pdf previously generated as an attachment.  I get the same error in the workflow. "smart object is empty"  when I do as you suggest.

Hi  @LauraVDB;

Could you please check out and/or verify with the methods see this doc how they played around with methods(https://community.k2.com/t5/K2-blackpearl-Articles/Smartobject-is-empty-error-when-running-Workflow/ta-p/80427)

Just recheck with your methods bindings...
