Hi,

I am trying to retrieve the approver FQN details using Activity Instance Destination SmartObjects, but it is returning null, even though I have configured a timer to allow for a delay.

Is there any way to retrieve the approver details when the task is actioned directly from email?

I am currently using K2 5.7.

Best Regards,

Thriveni

Hi,

I noticed this issue occurs because the Smart Objects are executing under the service account rather than the user’s identity. Could someone assist with executing Smart Objects using impersonation in C#? We want to avoid changing any global configuration for system Smart Objects.

Any idea please?

Best Regards,

Thriveni

The reporting SmartObjects will be security-trimmed. Whatever identity you are using to call that SmartObject, you will need to give that identity “View” rights on the workflow.

UPDATE: I just saw you were saying under the service account. From where are you calling the SmartObjects?

While my answer is correct, the fix is to just grant the service account view rights to the workflow from which you are trying to retrieve these details.

However, if the use case needs those details, I’m curious where you are trying to retrieve them. I’m curious about the particular use case and the architectural choices, as a simpler approach may be available.

Also, if you are trying to retrieve these details for a task from within the same workflow relatively soon after that task is actioned, under certain circumstances, you could run into a race condition where the reporting data hasn’t been updated yet. Under normal loads, it shouldn’t be an issue, but if your SQL Server is shared and lagging a bit, it could be a problem.
