Faster Triage, Smarter Escalation, Better Customer Outcomes

Support and Service desk teams are under constant pressure to respond quickly, prioritize accurately, and identify high-risk customer issues before they escalate. But as ticket volumes grow, manually reviewing every case for urgency, emotional intensity, and business impact becomes increasingly difficult.

That is why we are excited to introduce the Support Ticket Sentiment and Severity Agent, a new agent template designed to help teams analyze incoming support cases and tickets faster, more consistently, and with greater intelligence. The template uses Nintex Agentflows to analyze sentiment in support-reported cases and tickets, helping support teams triage requests more accurately and quickly.

Helping support teams identify what needs attention first

The mission of the Support Ticket Sentiment and Severity Agent is simple: help support teams identify the most urgent, high-risk, or emotionally distressed customers before a situation compounds. The agent evaluates support requests across sentiment dimensions such as emotional intensity and urgency signals, then assigns a severity level of Critical, High, Medium, or Low.

By returning sentiment and severity insights directly into a workflow, teams can route the right cases to the right next action. Once called, the agent uses AI to determine customer or employee sentiment, then returns that sentiment to a workflow for downstream action.

Why it matters

Support organizations often rely on manual review, rigid rules, or separate tools to understand ticket sentiment and determine prioritization. These approaches can slow response times, increase operational overhead, and make it harder to consistently detect subtle escalation signals.

The agent helps reduce operational costs by minimizing the manual effort required to read and interpret sentiment from customers or employees. It can also help eliminate dependency and costs on traditional IDP licensing where sentiment extraction is part of the evaluation process.

For customer service, IT, service desk, and operations teams, this creates a more scalable way to prioritize work based not only on what a ticket says, but on the urgency and emotional signals behind it.

Built for real-world support and service desk teams

This template is designed for teams that manage inbound requests, escalations, and operational workflows. Target users include customer service managers and supervisors, operations managers, service desk managers, IT application developers, IT process automation engineers, and IT business application or solutions teams.

Because the agent is implemented as a Nintex Agentflow, it can be called from a Nintex Workflow, making it easier to incorporate AI-driven sentiment analysis into existing business processes.

How it works

The agent is intended to be used as part of a broader workflow. After the agent is called, it evaluates the provided ticket or request information, determines sentiment, and passes the result back to the workflow for the next appropriate step.

To get started, teams create a connection to an AI model, import the Agentflow, and configure to use the appropriate AI model connection.

After installation, teams can create a Nintex Workflow or Orchestration to capture the required information and documents, such as through a form. Within that workflow, they can use a “Call an Agentflow” action and configure input variables to pass the relevant data and document into the Agentflow. The agent then extracts information and determines sentiment.

Designed to be extended

The template provides a simple Agentflow that demonstrates the art of the possible and is designed to be extended with additional workflow steps or integrations.

Teams can adapt the same pattern for related scenarios, including service desk incident severity analysis, customer churn risk detection, employee service request prioritization, and vendor escalation detection.

Prerequisites

To use the template, organizations need Nintex Workflow or Orchestration and Agents capability available in their license and enabled. They also need an AI model connection to execute the work request, such as Azure OpenAI or Anthropic.

The outcome: smarter triage, faster response

The Support Ticket Sentiment and Severity Agent gives support and operations teams a practical way to bring AI into everyday triage processes. By identifying emotional intensity, urgency signals, and severity levels earlier in the process, teams can improve routing decisions, focus attention where it matters most, and reduce the manual effort required to assess incoming requests.

With Nintex Agentflows, organizations can move beyond simple automation and start orchestrating intelligent, AI-assisted decisions directly inside their business workflows.

The Support Ticket Sentiment and Severity Agent is a starting point for smarter service operations, helping teams respond faster, prioritize better, and protect customer relationships before issues escalate.
