Whether you’re a fresh graduate or career changer, it’s important to evaluate what’s in your toolkit before you reach out and start applying to new positions. Are you qualified for an RPA role, or should you take a few more courses before you start applying?
Here are a few skills that every RPA developer should know how to do:
A) Knowledge of Business Processes
Business process knowledge is essential for every RPA developer, as companies want developers to understand the procedures that are driving their business. It’s also key when it comes to RPA deployment, and it also helps RPA developers identify which processes are ideal for RPA or any other form of automation.
B) Data Analytics
Experience in data analytics is one of the most desirable traits an RPA developer can have. Probability is an important factor when it comes to automation deployments that include machine learning and AI. The bots also transform unstructured data into organized, automated tasks, meaning that it’s essential to understand the types of variables, arrays, dictionaries, etc.
C) Coding
Although many RPA platforms offer low-code functionalities, it is highly desirable for RPA developers to know Visual Basic .NET programming languages to process data types using Microsoft’s library of prebuilt methods, especially since the Microsoft .NET Framework is one of the most common languages used to build various RPA platforms.
